“The brief when making an 'Authentic' mix for Steyoyoke is to create an original track to start the mix, and pick your favourite Steyoyoke tracks to go with it.  Usually my releases lean more towards peak time, and aren't the type of tracks you would pick to start a mix, especially if you want it to build. So this was a great opportunity to create an opening track, something to set the tone of the mix. Steyoyoke has been very consistent over the years, with a clear direction and sound, so there was an abundance of releases to choose from for the rest of the mix, all of which gel perfectly together.”

Pedro Mercado is an international artist based in Belgium. He is a very experienced DJ, Producer, Radiohost & Label Manager with his whole heart and soul. His style of music is a unique blend ranging from deep-, afro- & progressive-house to melodic techno.
 
As a Producer Pedro Mercado is one of the most successful Belgian artists in this style of music, reaching regularly the Beatport Top 100 on many highly regarded international labels (Chrom Recordings, Parquet, Kling Klong, Particles, Proton, Bonzai, Frequenza, Deeperfect, Natura Viva, Dear Deer, Beatfreak, Manual,…). Pedro Mercado is also hosting many radio shows, including a weekly residency on Ibiza Global Radio and a monthly residency on Proton Radio. 

As a DJ he has gigs all over the world: Belgium, Germany, The Netherlands, Spain, France, Switzerland, Mexico, Belarus, Russia,… and of course in his second home Ibiza.

His music can be classified in the genres of downtempo, organic and melodic house as currently played at many venues in Tulum, Mykonos and Ibiza. It is therefore not surprising that he was a resident at Secret Island as well as Kaufleuten Terrasse last summer and played at other day parties by the Zurich lake such as Sämig Amusement. Due to his roots in the Balkans, his sets are heavily influenced by music from the Middle East. Having learned to play piano as a child, he occasionally uses analog gear during his sets to add a live character.
