Crafting live beats and sounds collages with heart and edge

Wherever Liquid Sun Orchestra goes, it always will be the glorious ray of sunshine that unites audiences with its rousing afrobeat and afrojazz.

The Leiden (NL) based band consists of members from different generations, coming from different corners of the world. Their multicultural character is also echoed in their music. Throughout their intriguing mix of jazz, funk, latin, and dub, we always hear the influence of Nigerian grandmaster Fela Kuti. 

In 2016 Liquid Sun Orchestra released its debut album Before you Go, including adaptations of songs by afrobeat legends Fela Kuti and Manu Dibango. After touring Belgium and the Netherlands, the band presented their follow-up EP Woooh in 2022. Spring 2024 the messengers of the sun released their latest creations: singles Ngozi and Bushman, mixed by Oscar de Jong (Kraak & Smaak).
