Jack Prest is an interdisciplinary artist, sound engineer and composer. With a deep technical understanding of sound and training in conceptual art, his practice focuses on experimental electronic music. For Jack that means anything from ambient spaces to hip hop to music concrète to club beats. Viewing the studio as his main instrument, pushing sonic boundaries through music production overrides a specific style or genre. 

Jack frames his sound practice within a wider interdisciplinary vision, best demonstrated by his debut work as lead artist, The Risk Of Hyperbole (commissioned by Phoenix Central Park in late 2021). His interdisciplinary work has received support from Art Gallery of NSW, Create NSW, Australia Council, Bundanon Trust, Foxy Digitalis, FBi, NTS and Dublab.

With over a decade of experience Jack’s path as an artist builds on an extensive career as a facilitator and collaborator. Performance works, for which he has composed original scores, have featured at top international arts centres including Salders Wells, Szigit Festival and Sydney Opera House. Jack is a senior engineer at Studios 301, Australia’s largest recording facility, and is a leading engineer within the Australia independent and alternative music scene. His engineering credits feature Godtet, Stones Throw, Future Classic and Sampa The Great.

Aussie soul singer Kuseah is a name to watch. Born and raised in Sydney to a Filipino mother and an English father, Kuseah’s strong influences of soul, reggae, hip hop, roots and 90s boy bands are threaded through her music. 

Her live shows are energetic, charismatic and honest, with a unique urban sound that leans on the retro-soul bandwagon of artists like Janelle Monae, Paloma Faith and Amy Winehouse.

In 2013, Kuseah teamed up with songwriter/producer brothers John and Paul Bartlett from Lowrider to record her debut EP “A Winner’s Guide to the Walk of Shame”. Recorded at Chapel Lane Studios and mastered by Neville Clarke (Hilltop Hoods, Funkoars), this five-track record serves as a delicious sampler and is now available on iTunes, Spotify and Amazon. 

With songs written from the foetal position of lost loves and failed romances, Kuseah delivers a refreshing, light-hearted take on the broken-hearted songstress, with can’t-help-but-dance tracks dripping with funky riffs and stompy beats. She is a must-see scratch in the bedpost of new Sydney music.
