Charles Aznavour sinh năm 1924 tại Paris, gốc người Arménie. Tại Sài Gòn, thời kỳ nhạc yé-yé những năm 60, người ta biết đến Aznavour qua bài « Et Pourtant » năm 1963, sau khi đã biết Aznavour tài tử xi-nê qua phim « Un taxi pour Tobrouk ». 
Bài « La Bohème » sáng tác năm 1965, nói lên nếp sống lãng tử của giới nghệ sĩ trên đồi Montmartre của nửa đầu thế kỷ 20.
