 I went back to College in my 50s and signed up for Music Tec.  Recording, Theory, etc.  Learning to use Computers and Operating Systems (Mac at School, Win. at Home) On the fly was Way Overwhelming for Me But My Love Of Music Was Stoked Even More 
and I Survived.  My first On Line Class I Was a Disaster.........I was taking my Final and my computer crashed Hard. I Knew very little about them.........but I did Know that I had waited till the last minute to test, Confident Because I had Studied and prepared.  Looking Back I Know I Shouldn't Have Been Streaming Tunes While I Tested And I Should Have Taken The Test With "Time To Spare".
When I Was Pleading With The Teacher Telling Him The Computer Crashed and He Told Me To "Tell It To Microsoft". 
     Well Well, Pissed Me Off So Bad I Got Some Books and Started Immersing MySelf in How To Understand This BEAR Called Computer.
That First Computer Only Had About 40 Gig Hard Drive, The Operating System Took Up About 28 Of That. Of Course Some Of That Is Dedicated To Storage of Music Files, Jpeg, Documents, Video etc. 2Gb Ram ---- Twenty Years Later:
      Now I have Just Put Together a Great Computer
      Gaming Tower, Gaming MotherBoard, 32Gb Ram
      1200 Watt Modular Power Supply
       Firewire 800, USB 3 
       Multiple Hard Drives-----500Gb SSD 
       8Tb 7200 RPM + 2--- 1TB +3TB
       My Mixing Board Is AI That communicates over Firewire 800 
       It Has A Virtual Board and an App to Control It On SmartPhone or Tablet 
       And Others In The Band Can Control their Own Mix 
 My MIDI Keyboard Has Lots of Different Instrument Sounds and Is Able To Access More Content Through Software.  Just Amazing Stuff,  Composing Software That will Make Sheet music From Midi Input,  Yea I Come A Long Way From Sitting By The Campfire Playing Guitar,  I Learn More Everyday But At My Age I Forget Stuff Too Dam Quickly,  I Stay At It and Will Take What I Am Given.
AND AM THANKFUL EVERYDAY THAT WE HAVE THE GIFT OF MUSIC TO KEEP US COMPANY ON OUR "JOURNEY"--- "The JOURNEY" IS THE FABRIC OF OUR SONGS.
