The Scandinavian duo Pink Milk is gearing up to release their debut album Purple (out in the fall of 2017 on Black Hair Records), and here’s the second single ’Kill 4 U’ – a song about bliss.

The debut album Purple displays the atmospheric dark sound and addictive melodies that has become trademarks for Pink Milk and is filled with cinematic unnerving soundscapes that reminds of a forgotten movie soundtrack from the 80s. The songs are recorded in a dark place isolated on the Swedish island of Gotland, produced and mixed by the band itself.

Hailing from Sweden, Pink Milk is a dark wave/post-punk band drenched in  reverb, making occult cinematic music inspired by the 80s. The feedback-loving duo, consisting of Maria and Edward , started out releasing music in 2015, quickly growing a reputation for their gloomy glittering sound and enslaving melodies.

With their dials firmly set to the epic and transcendent, Nottingham's When The Sun Hits bring us their latest, a six track EP of big wide open guitarscapes, big vocals and even bigger choruses. The Last Light comes on like early Verve with extra washed out guitars and a glowering rhythm section. Lie To Me feels breezier until another big chorus lands, with plaintive and wrenched vocals wrestling their way across a melodic wall of sound. Twilight takes us into different territory altogether as stunning synth-like vapour guitars interlock into relaxed ethereality that bridge from the shoegaze to Warp's Seefeel and Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works.
 
Stereopium, with dreamy lyrics and soft strings is a perfect lullaby. Cooper's Secret closes the EP with more guitar washed out ambient instrumental goodness, a perfect end to a perfectly realised EP, and one that leaves them well placed to add to Nottingham's fine music heritage.
