Slant 6 is comprised of 3 well versed musicians from Central Illinois who like to play rockabilly...with an attitude.  ​With the years of music experience between them, and each one taking turns on lead vocals to showcase their individual styles,  Slant 6 live performances are never dull and boring.  Make sure you get out and see them any chance you get!

Mike Harmison - Guitar & Vocals - Driving force and originator of Slant 6, "Sippy", is also an incredible guitar player, a top notch singer, songwriter, and an all around good guy. As any worthy entertainer does, he always puts on a show that won't let you stand still!

​Stan Smart - Doghouse Bass & Vocals - With his awesome doghouse bass skills, he consistently  provides the band, and the fans, with rhythm, thunder, and a vocal style that brings you straight to the juke joint of the good ​ol' days! Here comes the "Stanimal"!

Julie Maloney - Drums & Vocals -  Lightning fast hands that keep the guys in line, and on time,  with snare drum skills that always keep the train rollin!  When she's "let loose" on the vocals, well...this kitten turns into a one little wild cat! Watch out for the "Boom Boom"!



Founder of Be-Bop Deluxe in 1973, guitarist Bill Nelson wrote all of the bands material. Signed to EMI, the band released five studio albums and scored a top ten UK hit with the single "Ship In The Night." In 1979 Bill disbanded Be-Bop Deluxe and launched his next band Red Noise whose 'Sound-On-Sound' album is often cited as an inspiration by many younger bands. Bill then formed his own independent record label, Cocteau Records, and throughout the 80's and 90's he released many solo albums as well as collaborating with other musicians such as Yellow Magic Orchestra, David Sylvian, Harold Budd, The Associates, Cabaret Voltaire, Sandy And The Sunsets and Channel Light Vessel. As a producer he has worked on albums for Roger Eno, The Skids, Gary Numan, The Units, Channel Light Vessel, The Rhythm Sisters, Nash The Slash and many others. 

Bill has also composed and recorded music for film, television and theatrical productions.

Over the past five years he has released many albums under his current label Sonoluxe Records.
