BSDD grew up in New Jersey on a steady diet of classic late 80’s and early 90’s New Jersey/New York house, as well as early the early classics from Detroit and Chicago. This a series called Rainy Day Remixes (and edits). Digging through the crates and remixing some of my favorite old school records. If the weather is poor or I need a break from writing my own stuff....I just pull out some vinyl and knock out a remix or edit. Zac Love - Lend Me an Ear (Cold Busted)

I was digging through the crates working on a mix the other day and I was feeling in need of a little Poindexter action. Poindexter is one of my all time favorite drum programmers from the golden years of Chicago. I was going to just do a quick re-rub for a mix I was working on just to add a little flavor. Instead, I ended up doing a full remixing it and some edits. I tried to leave the drums alone because they are just so damn classic...just a few extra chops and drops thrown in. I did add some classic old school bass, keys and fx to keep it true to the era...I think it grooves pretty nicely. It has an old Chicago meets old school Jersey/Zanzibar sound. I know you should not mess with the classics but I thought this turned out pretty cool.

This is the 5th installment of my Rainy Day Edits & Remixes project. Gemini aka Spencer Kinsey is one of my all time favorite producers and was way, way ahead of his time. He released so many dope tracks on Peacefrog, Planet E, Relief, Cajual, Distance and Classic. I miss this cat as his records were always able to ride the line between deep, experimental and still got the floor packed. This record in particular "The Wave" has one of his best basslines, which is just a classic Juno square bass, which is so infectious. I did this one as a full on remix with my own synths and acid lines as well as all my own drums, just leaving the bassline, and pads as the same. Hope you enjoy this as much as I did paying tribute to one of the best whoever did it.

DayzOne releases his second EP for the Belmar Sol - Dancefloor Division series. Keep it Classic has DayzOne drawing back to his late 80's and early 90's roots of the classic New Jersey sound. DayzOne draws from the past but still retains a modern flair with his two versions of "Keep it Classic". DayzOne is kind enough to give us both an instrumental version and a tracky version with a pronounced vocal sample, as some Jersey heads like it with or without the vox. You decide. Track 3 is called "I Get the Girls" and it is a prime time house/tech burner, which hopefully gets the girlies out on the floor. DayzOne knows that the best parties are when the girlies are out on the floor and this track is for them. Track 4 is titled "Time Machine, which has a deeper late night feel drawing back to classic Detroit techno and classic house. Modern New Jersey stylings based in the present but strongly rooted in the past!

Just Won't Do is a primetime house stomper that blends traditional Jersey garage pianos with classic xox box drums and some Chicago influenced jackin harmonics. This is for the primetime dancefloor crew. The Vox Dub keeps it classic with a tracky vocal flip and the No Vox dub is the full version with no vocals. As always, we give it to you both ways for the right dancefloor fit. The Jackin Beats Mix is an alternate version without the classic piano riffs and vocal chops, removing much of the Jersey influence and going all in on the Chicago influences. For those who know.....Logic was the bomb in the early 90's releasing the seminal deep classic "The Warning" on Strictly Rhythm. The year was 1990 and it was only SR's 7th release I believe (SR1207). The Warning is the bomb but I always fell harder for the flip side "The Final Frontier". Straight up deep with one of the most memorable basslines in house, only second to Mr. Fingers - Can You Feel It. I pulled out the vinyl on "The Final Frontier" just make a quick edit/dj tool for a new mix I was working on. I had so much fun I programmed some classic sounding drums and knocked out a few sounds as well. I wanted to keep it minimal and highlight the fantastic bass and not kill the groove with any other instrumentation. I guess this is my take on a classic. Hope you enjoy it. Strictly for those that know.

Miyav`e drops a track called "Tasty", which has some serious deep house leanings with disco tinged drums and infectious horns, which makes this track pump. Track 4 is from Mucity hailing from Russia. Mucity drops "Memorie" which is serious late 80's classic deep house. If I didn't tell you, you would think this was a long lost Chicago track that is sorely missing from your collection. Classic!
