Last Words

Modern morality is based on a foundation of sand. The belief that individual freedom is the greatest good relies on the faulty assumptions of irreligious modern European philosophers with their 'state of nature' hypotheses. It was supposed that humanity began life as disparate agents, and from this hypothetical state we created loose bonds predicated on rational self-interest. The inevitable result of this idea is rampant, merciless capitalism.

But the real invisible hand is the one that guided our species through its evolution as a communal animal; rendering the state of nature as an ignorant fantasy. It is the falsehood of the Enlightenment that justifies the suffering of the wretched ones today, and as we traverse the moral maze of our time we realise we are lost in a new Dark Age.

As we try to rediscover what it is to be a societal creature communities are spontaneously coming into being across the landscape. One such organization is The Audacious Art Experiment, whose eternal spirit of cooperation manifested itself today in the form of a mix tape. Beautiful works of art abound on this compilation, and it's here that my lament for the moral dark age can be heard.
