This is the long mantra of Chenrezig or Avalokitesvara - the Boddhisatva of Compassion. The short version "Om Mani Peyme Hung" is said to contain all 84,000 teachings of the Buddha in 6 syllables. This recording is an offering of prayer to the people and land of Nepal after a devastating Earthquake caused much damage and many deaths in April 2015. Om Mani Peyme Hung is chanted for many purposes, one is to bless those who pass on to transition from this world into the higher realms. The words “masterful”, “remarkable”, and “everything he touches turns to gold” have been used by various periodicals when reviewing music created by award-winning producer/composer Ben Leinbach.  Ben aspires to create transcendent music that highlights a broad spectrum of the human experience: the beauty and the darkness, the love and the longing, the joy and the melancholy.  It is his hope that through exploring this emotional terrain, the listener will feel more deeply and live more fully. 

He has produced recordings with Deva Premal and Miten, Shiva Rea, and Jai Uttal, including Jai’s Grammy-nominated album “Mondo Rama”, to name a few. As a recording engineer he has worked with Joan Baez, Ledisi, and E-40, among many others, and performed as a drummer with Kurt Elling, Chico Freeman, and Michael Manring.  One of his former rock bands shared bills with Green Day, Primus, and The Ohio Players.
