At -10,984 meters, Challenger Deep is the deepest known point in all of the world's oceans. A place so dark, hostile and inhospitable to humans, only a handful of missions to reach it (and return) have ever been successful.
To honor those who made it back from a 1000+ atmospheres of hydrostatic pressure (and those who didn't), I challenged myself to make a deep DnB set while only using sea-themed and water-related track IDs.

This is how I imagine a perfect opening set before the madness begins. Getting deep and dark, underground vibe, slowly rolling into the night. I am serving all kinds of flavours here, influenced by living in the UK and growing up in Czech Republic. You won't get the well-known hits (apart from a few), maybe you'll rather discover some bangers thanks to this set. 🙏

Put your hands up in the air for Nikol aka MANTIS

Nikol is co-founder of BASSídka crew in Prague, Czech Republic and part of duo SIN VISION.
She has been listening to drum and bass for over 10 years now, but started DJing just in November 2022. Listening to Neurofunk at first, after spending a year in Manchester in 2019, Mantis fell in love with the darker and more technical sub genre of drum and bass, which you can hear throughout her mixes - always highlighted by some catchy vocals and rolling grooves!
Always taking her playtime into consideration when planning a set, the styles Mantis plays may differ from deep & liquid to dark & heavy beats, almost crossing the border from techstep to neurofunk.
