On 1/31/08, my 42nd birthday, I got one my best birthday presents in my life, at Yoshi's in San Francisco, CA, when my friend, the great Cassandra Wilson (and one of the best, most organic bands in Jazz) sang me happy birthday. I was tour managing for her at the time, and this was one of the last few gigs of our 2008 US tour. I've listened to this every year since on my birthday, it's become a tradition now.
