Originally from the Slough, England, Richard Gilbert AKA Burn has been in NZ for nearly ten years. He owned his first set of turntables when he was fourteen and grew up listening to Dizzee Rascal and MC Wiley doing two step UK garage sets on the pirate radio stations Rinse and Flex FM. This inspired Burn follow my dream of packing out stadiums and clubs on a worldwide basis. Since arriving in NZ at the age of 16, he has played numerous venues, most recently Flight Lounge, Hitch Bar and KFM. Whilst predominantly wanting to play drum n bass, Burn can easily switch up and play any genre, with a record collection encompassing everything from original Studio One jamaican reggae records, to Nas's greatest hits and Gang Starr's Moment of Truth, to DJ Die, Ready for Love and Concord Dawn's Don't Tell Me. He is currently studying sound and audio engineering and electonic music production at MAINZ, so watch this space for tune releases hitting your ears soon.
