The song started as a sort of confession - a blank sheet of paper with "I don't want to be a Christian" written at the top.

At some point it morphed into what I guess is my take on Peter's denial after Jesus was arrested. But there's a dash of Judas in their too, and I'm working on a couplet for St Thomas that I can sneak in down the line.
