JisCo DaZz - Slap That Bass (Noden Remix)

Get Down Edits founder Darren 'Dazz' Dalton dons his solo Jisco Dazz alias for a fine outing on his own imprint. He's in sample-rich original production mode on 'Slap That Bass', adding Wurtlitzer style organ licks, jaunty pianos, dreamy chords and eyes-closed female vocal samples to a weighty bassline and smooth deep house bass. The accompanying remix package is pleasingly solid too. Dalton's Get Down Edits project delivers a more low-slung, funk-fuelled house revision that makes more of the killer bassline and vocal samples, before Noden slaps down (sorry) a rolling dub disco-meets-deep house rework and Stephen Richards gives the track a sunnier and more soulful garage-house feel.

Michael Franks is one of the most prolific musicians of the Californian Westcoast/Jazz/AOR/Yacht scene, the one and only Michael Franks, who approved personally the new version. Over the languorous course of 33 years and 16 albums, Michael Franks has mesmerized an international legion of fans with his one-of-a-kind artistry. Seamlessly weaving lyrics of stunning sensuality, wit, reflection and literary eloquence over music that tastefully utilizes top shelf shadings of jazz, soul, pop, chamber and music from around the globe. His music was covered by countless international stars, like The Carpenters, Shirley Bassey, Ringo Star, Natalie Cole, a.m.m. . His music lives on and is loved by so many modern Balearic/Soft Disco musicians/producers from today.

The Reworkers:

FLYING MOJITO BROS: 
are two Desert Disco and Outlaw House DJs pioneering the great electronic wilder-ness.
With boots firmly planted in dusty 70s sunsets, their productions take cosmic country funk and classic rock to dancefloors via modern disco and baggy acid house on a bed of hefty contemporary rhythms.

JACK TENNIS: 
Berlin producer Jack Tennis is the mastermind behind a lot of projects. He releases his own music under the name Hotlane (signed to Gomma Records) and spreads his Disco-Edits for UK’s influential Disco Label Midnight Riot (run by Yam Who!), Spa In Disco and Too SLow To Disco. He has an edit on every TSTD YACHT DISCO EDITS compiatlion so far, he was already part of TSTD EDITS 2 – Brasil with an edit, and last year he remixed SATIN JACKETS for TSTD NEO’s “The Sunset Manifesto” - compilation. The 4 tracks on this compilation are regular floor fillers in DJ Supermarkt’s DJ Sets, so it was time to give them a proper vinyl release. Lots more to come!

MONSIEUR VAN PRATT: 
founder of Super Spicy Records, is a prominent producer and DJ originally from Mexico City, whose influence on electronic music is widely recognized both nationally and internationally. With an impressive career that includes more than 100 releases in digital format and 26 on vinyl, which consolidate him as a key figure in the genre.

This track is deeply inspired by the sounds of the 80s, a decade of music that has always moved me. I tried to capture that feeling with heartfelt saxophone lines and drums that you can really feel. 🎷 My hope is that it brings you a sense of nostalgia and energy.
