Since 1993, electronic music trailblazers Andi Toma and Jan St. Werner aka Mouse On Mars have been creating an unparalleled sound universe in which pop, noise, playfulness, and a sense of fun work together hand in hand. During their long, prestigious career they have released records on labels like Too Pure, Thrill Jockey, Domino, Ipecac, and most recently on their new home base label Monkeytown Records. Furthermore they established their own label, Sonig, and collaborated with musicians like Junior Boys, Moondog and under the moniker Von Südenfed with Mark E. Smith of The Fall. To celebrate more than two decades together, Mouse On Mars will soon release their new album “21 Again” and feature the talent of artists such as Tortoise or Matthew Herbert. For Carhartt WIP Radio this month, for the first time ever they have compiled a collection of new and unreleased tracks, rare edits, remixes and found footage material, all while eating salty nuts in the bathtub!

We don’t often invite people to run the FACT Mix gauntlet more than once – but if anyone gets to bend the rules, it’s Klock.

The Berlin titan last graced these parts back in 2009, filing a muscular FACT Mix entirely in keeping with his reputation as Berghain’s bosher-in-chief. The last five years have seen him consolidate his reputation as a standard bearer of refined, take-no-prisoners techno; his eight-hour-plus sets continue to shake Berghain’s foundations, and, although his output has slowed substantially, he’s still found time to knock out the occasional release on Ostgut Ton. His Klockworks label continues to tick along, too - new releases from fellow FACT mixer Trevino and Etapp Kyle are imminent, plus, if a forthcoming stint of “studio time” comes good, potentially more new music from Klock himself.

Those expecting pulverising 4×4 might be surprised by Klock’s sophomore FACT mix – a “deeper, dreamy” collection, bookended by two vintage ambient tracks and shot through with wonder. Unreleased Klockworks material features, as do cuts from the likes of Function, Ben Sims, Surgeon, Orgue Electronique and Lucy. The mix is a studio-recorded affair – something Klock sees as a very different kettle of fish to playing out: “Club mixes are obviously more spontaneous and capture the vibe of a specific night, while working in the studio offers other possibilities like re-editing tracks and layering tunes more precisely, which I’ve done a lot of that here.” Set your watches…

"Here's the long promised recording of my set from the Numbers LDN warehouse party back in December of last year.

There were a few Serato technicals to start with, hence the reason for the first few tracks being played without any attempt to blend them, and because it was December, I played some of biggest tunes of the year as a kind of retrospective of one of the best years of UK music in history (IMO). I also put a few of the tracks that I rinsed heavily in my sets throughout 2011, plus the usual selection of surprises. For the same reason, there's also a few blends from my Fabric CD and the RA mix.

We need to say a really big thanks to Black Atlantic and Red Bull, but most of all the troops who stayed till half past 6 in the morning singing along to all the tracks and dancing on top of their mates shoulders. You guys made one of the best parties we've ever been involved in so thanks very much."
