Smokescreen Sound System is a collective of musicians, artists and DJ's who play and promote deep underground house. Smokies started back in the earl 90s in Sheffield, UK and over the years have put on hundreds of club nights and free parties up and down the country making a name for themselves for their bassy rig and chunky tunes. Artists such as Inland Knights, The Littlemen, Special Interest, Kinky Movement and Brown all cut their teeth at Smokescreen parties and can still be found Dj'ing at Smokescreen nights at The Maze in Nottingham and various parties around the UK. NameSpace are London/Midlands based DJ and Producers Ben Shaw and Ben Summers.

Ben Shaw has been producing and remixing for more than 13 years, starting off under the Sunscape alias on Barrie Jamieson’s label Fluid Recordings, before releasing under his own name with his biggest track “So Strong” feat. Adele Holness on Cass, Slide and Lee Burridge's Fire label back in 2001.
Following this he ran his own label Kubist Recordings in 2003, seeing several vinyl releases.  Ben has since been releasing music on various labels including Omnis, Repressure, Per-Vurt, Mesmeric, 99% Recordings and Black Hole.
Last summer Ben made it through to the "Final 14" contestants in the infamous Burn Studios Sasha remix competition.  His remix of Sasha’s "Cut Me Down" was released on Sasha's Last Night on Earth Label.

Ben Summers has been DJing for more than 18 years, holding residencies at many popular nights in the Midlands including Blend (also playing out in Ibiza as part of their world tour) and Nottingham based LoveZoo. His mixes have been played on various online stations including the famous Proton Radio, whilst on the production front Ben has worked with vocalists and producers from the USA and Spain.  Ben recently released “Phobos7” on Soulfire Downloads. The track has had support from all the major players, including Sasha who charted the Thermal Bear remix on his July 2012 Beatport chart.

As a duo, NameSpace's first release was "The Sentinel" which was swiftly signed to highly acclaimed label Stripped Recordings and released in March 2011.  The Sentinel was remixed by Deepfunk and Global Underground regular Jim Rivers. Since then NameSpace have gone on to remix tracks by Seb Dhajje, Deepfunk, and more recently D00sh and Orlinski on Endemic Digital, Crossworld and Soulfire Downloads.

The Littlemen are a duo from Nottingham, England. Both have been DJing on the UK free party scene, clubs and festivals since 1993, Steve as a part of the legendary Smokescreen Sound System and Gav as a member of the Giddy Fruit Collective.

Whilst DJing at the same events they decided to put their heads together in the studio and around 1999, formed The Littlemen. Since then they have racked up over 40 releases and many remixes on respected labels such as Drop Music, Aroma Recordings, Funky Piranha, Tango Recordings, Lowdown Music, Muzique Boutique, Amenti Music, Nightshift Recordings, Blockhead Recordings, Umma Recordings, Procreation Music, Kolour Recordings, Shrewd Music and their own imprint, Mobile Trax, creating a reputation throughout the world for their deep, funky and contagious house sound. Their music has been licensed to compilations on labels such as Om Records, Sony Music, Cafe Del Mar and Salted Muic to name a few, by DJ’s such as Mark Farina, Collette, Miguel Migs, Sneaky Sound System and DJ Heather . As well as their production work together they have also released material independently, Gav, as Little Man Big, and Steve as Steve Littlemen. They have also worked with members of Brown, To-ka Project, Inland Knights and Lo-Motion on labels such as Drop Music, Tilted Recordings, Viva Recordings, 20:20 Vision, DiY Discs, Myna Music, Guesthouse and Aroma Recordings.

Together, The Littlemen continue to be heavily involved with Smokescreen and their local party scene but also have played some of the best clubs in the UK like Ministry Of Sound, Fabric and The Sub Club. You can also find them performing gigs in Asia, all over Europe, the USA, Australia and New Zealand, South Africa and beyond.

Hailing from Nottingham U.K. and having been producing for years under other names ( Kinky Movement and Onsei) the Alias Moshun was "born" to cater for the funkier sets played and created. 
Inspired from an early age to be involved in music, firstly trained to play violin and piano at an early age, later moving on to djing at the age of 13 and got into music composition and arrangement at 16, studied music technology at Confetti school of sound engineering and also music business at NCN college Nottingham. 
The next step was to go into production and after successful releases under the names Kinky Movement and Onsei the concept of Moshun was born. 
Moshun caters for all styles of music with releases in House, Jackin , Deep, Soulful Nu Disco, Garage and Downtempo.

I love and mix a wide range of House music, Afro, Breaks, Deep, Garage, Jacking, Jazzy, Latin, Nu Disco, Soulful & Tech House.

I’ve been collecting music for over 25 years from the Soul/Funk era of the late 70’s right through to the birth of House music in the 80’s. 

Early 2016 saw the launch of #realhousegroove, a monthly event dedicated to Afro, Deep and Soulful house in the Lounge at Calabash Bistro, Gastown. 

In 2014 I became an International resident DJ for Global House Movement Radio, mixing house music live each weekend. I have over 5000 followers on Mixcloud & SoundCloud and every week I release a music podcast.

Between 2007 and 2015 I was DJing in South Asia and launched my music promotion and event company Redition Music, I design all my own advertising material and arrange my own promotion.
