All of us here at All Day I Dream have been super excited about this release for months. Not only does it contain the gorgeous original mix from Maher Daniel and Jon Charnis that has been melting ladies hearts all summer long but we also have quite a superb remix. Luca Bacchetti's Endless label is one of our favorites here and it was only a matter of time until we knew we were going to (gently) prize something special from his musical soul.  

His remix has caused a little bit of a stir. We've been bombarded on a daily basis with requests for it. Well, for all you bombarders, it's finally here. Initially we only sent it out to a tiny handful of friends and family. Dixon and Ame both played it in Panorama Bar on  the same night, and it's been a staple track in Lee Burridge's sets all summer. It never sounded better than at Burning Man festival this year and those lucky enough to have been there will attest to the mystical journey it weaved as it meandered out of the Robot Heart bus's perfect sound system and across the playa. One of it's most memorable moments, so far, for sure. Now it's time for you to create your own magic with it. The hardest decision you'll have to make is deciding which mix to play. Dream on dreamers

Taking the release-portfolio into account, Rampa built over the last years on Keinemusik, him adding a new EP to the labels catalogue is worth every credit of trust. And this very “Trust” EP is living up to that not only by its name. It certainly offers value for money, considering KM-releases have mostly been two-trackers. There are four cuts on this one, each one following a different approach, making it also a hella versatile record.

It opens with the titeltrack, the floor-mantra within this bunch. A ruminant groove, backed by lifting and dropping notes, launching a catchy synth-figure and adding up synth-layers until all tension drops into a break that’s as curative as a talk therapy. A track that, out of unshakable serenity, unleashes an irresistible energy.

The following “Entropie” comes closest to what could be considered a Rampa classic. Percussive loops that are scooped up with even more banging and clanking – check. Lurking synthbass in the back – check. Vocalsamples with tribal descent – double check. Generally, you’ll find a whole lot of folklore in this rhythm rich affair, that continuously is jazzing up to highest ecstasy levels.

The flipside opens with “Defiled”, led by a prominent synthline, that’s going through various filter highs and lows and gets bludgeoned by some vigorously swung claps. Raw, naked floor material lacking any flourish, that seems to even fire up a jackhammer during the break.

“Headsup” is concluding this set. Triggering the smell of watered sidewalks, lit-up only by flickering neon light, immersed in the depths of delay, this latenight-story finds some redemption and warmth within the glow of its soulful vocal samples.

Mathame refine their singular sound on ‘Skywalking’ and a collaboration with Tale Of Us, ‘Departure’.
Following 2018’s ‘Nothing Around Us’ single, Mathame show no sign of slowing down. Their Afterlife Recordings follow up is a dancefloor single of epic proportions, taking the duo further into a realm of their own. Tension hangs off the sliding chords and spacious arrangements. In the case of ‘Skywalking’ it reaches an uplifting, euphoric crescendo, in Tale Of Us’ intro edit of ‘Departure’ the theme goes darker and off-kilter. Denis Horvat returns to Afterlife Recordings for a second EP of distinctive, dancefloor productions.

A year after ‘Modelo’ comes ‘Miracle Of The Rose’, an evocative and authentic development of Horvat’s sound. On ‘Noise’, the vocals of Lelah give way to a stripped-down, reverberant groove. The title track rises with a free-flowing melody before dropping a tough, angular beat. ‘Divin’ is the EP’s deepest cut, before digital only track ‘Royale’ rounds off this diverse release with flair.

Chicago born @Antenes is a Brooklyn based synth obsessive. She builds her own modulars and then sets them to the future to cook up rough edged warehouse tracks that are gritty and bleakly atmospheric, as well as more textured, detailed ambient work. She has done installations at Moogfest as well as playing as far afield as China, Colombia and Japan, and has appeared on LIES, Silent Season, Bunker NY and Mord. She DJs as well as playing live, has roots in goth and industrial as well as noise  from her early years playing guitar, but also has a real love of techno, electro and experimental.

Her darkly absorbing mix for us this week includes tracks from Electric Indigo, Stephanie Merchak, Fjader, Oisel, Rrose, Lonefront, DJ ESP, Erica Mar, Wata Igarashi, Silent Servant, Ewa Justka, Bergsonist and Uun. It reflects her interest in a healthy amount of ominous dance hypnagogia while also drawing from a large pool of influences from the experimental to her roots in the Midwest. “The ESP track in there has some weird filtering and panning with the crunchy drums for example,” she says, “I love hearing how raw it is”.

Bengoa is a Greek musician, producer, songwriter and DJ based in Athens, Greece. His full-spectrum electronic influences, rooted in ambient, techno, house, hip hop, trip hop, but also jazz and funk, have led him to establish a multifaceted but, at the same time, unique style - a sound that Bengoa has created for himself over the years. He is commonly known for his house music productions and dj sets, but recently has explored more mid and down tempo approaches into his electronic sound, writing lyrics and experimenting with organic instrumentation. He is the owner of B2 Recordings and Saos Records, both made as platforms to host his own widely diverse productions, as well as music from fellow artists that he signs from time to time.
