Swiss brothers @almanegramusic have been at the forefront of blending global sounds with house and disco for a hot minute now, and bring their always-musical, globetrotting style to our series with a mix that's full of early summer sunshine—with plenty of exclusive unreleased gems to boot. *How would you describe your sound?*

It’s funk, disco and house. Percussion is one of the most essential elements in our music! But I also would describe it as summery with the goal that people feel good and want to dance. 

*What and who inspires you and influences your sound?*

We are inspired by so many music and artists. You can hear that in the diversity of our tracks. We are inspired by African music, jazz but also funk, disco and house classics.

*Can you tell us a little about this mix and what it means to you?*

The mix shows the different approaches of our productions we did so far. From live band sound and originals, to remixes and edits.

Ben Gomori has long been on the Le Visiteur radar, having previously shared remixes and edits of his across the years. A true underground head Ben's soundcloud is a go to for me when looking for quality music from his own output to his long running Turned On show, live sets and more if you are looking for a musical treat make sure you check it out.

Ben has just released a real summer 2024 track 'Get Off Your Phone!' which features an impassioned plea by US production and vocal legend Kevin Aviance, beseeching clubbers to get off their phones and embrace the moment. It's a plea that anyone who saw clubland before the advent of the instagram crowd can fully get behind.

To celebrate the release of the track via the brilliant Faith label Ben has put together a pretty incredible mix for us which is fully themed around phone related tracks and features stone absolute classics from Lil Louis, Låpsley, Madonnaer, Green Velvet and many more.

London-based DJ, producer, label owner and promoter Ben Gomori has a long and varied career in dance music, stretching from illegal raves in fields in his birthplace Cambridge through residencies at some of London’s most legendary clubs to some of the biggest venues and festivals in the world. He plays an inimitable mix of house, disco, Balearic, electro, afro, acid, garage and techno, tirelessly digging for lesser known gems that he unearths for his RecordReplay bargain bin vinyl radio shows and seamlessly fitting them alongside the sounds of today, sprinkled with his own acclaimed edits and productions and a high-energy mixing style. 

Co-founder of the eclectic Balearic London parties and vinyl edits label, he’s also the founder of the acclaimed Monologues Records, G-Edits and Sterns Edits imprints. Currently a resident for Pleasurehood, XOYO’s flagship Saturday night party, he has also played regularly at Berlin’s hallowed Sisyphos since 2019. He also runs Pitchblack Playback—a global series of album and DJ mixtape listening sessions in the dark, of which Rick Rubin said “this sounds great” and Jamiroquai’s Jay Kay said was “a fabulous idea”.
