After 15 years of producing club tracks which have enjoyed support from everyone from Gilles Peterson to Disclosure and playing everywhere from Womb in Tokyo to Space and Pikes in Ibiza to fabric in London and Glastonbury, London-based producer and DJ Ben Gomori turns his hand to his first long-form release: ‘Collapsing Time’.

Drawing on sounds ranging from the Balearic grooves celebrated by his Balearic London party and label (alongside Ariane V, Gaucho and Sarahtonin) to the progressive and breakbeat sounds of his youth, ‘80s synth pop and boogie and the peak-time house he is known for, the album features collaborations with the likes of Rui Da Silva—who also mixed and mastered the album—and rising talents like Carly Foxx, Daisybelle, Michelle Nova and Coco Cole. Featuring Gomori’s first songwriting efforts, the mood of the album is a mix of the euphoric and the melancholic, and draws on the theme of our elastic experience and struggles with time and its impact on our relationships. All tracks and lyrics were written and produced by Gomori, with additional guitar parts by Michael Jablonka (Michael Kiwanuka’s guitarist) and GRAMMY Award-nominated flamenco specialist, Glenn Sharp.

The project represents a bold step forward for Gomori, showing his development as an artist with wider intentions and leaning into his love of pop music while retaining his dancefloor foundations.

Well look, I've never done one before and after finally watching the 'Sign O' The Times' concert film, I wanted a version of the live version of this track to play in my sets and I couldn't find any online and so at least this is an original idea. I've given it some very simple embellishments which I hope are not cause for sacrilege. Hopefully useful wherever you're playing this summer.

I sampled his plea on the Resident Advisor Exchange podcast for people to get off their phones in clubs, and from the early reactions it feels like it's really striking a chord for our times. A message we can all get behind!

Back in 2019 I did a couple of remixes for Disclosure for their album ‘ENERGY’ that never ended up coming out. Guy gave me his blessing to set them free so I’ve decided to give them away in the run-up to the release of my debut album ‘Collapsing Time’ (out Nov 20). 

Each remix was inspired by one of my favourite remixers of all-time. This one was dedicated to Frankie Knuckles sublime reworks from the ‘80s, and it was an absolute dream come true to work with Kelis’ vocals and the boys’ parts. 

My super talented friend Ghosten took my piano parts and made them wayyyy nicer, and I ended up using my instrumental as a standalone track ‘Karumi’ that came out on my first True Romance EP ‘Square Peg, Round Hole’.

Disclosure have shown some amazing support for my productions and I’m forever grateful. Affirmation from people at the top of the game like them is something that helps keep me going in my many, many, many moments of doubt, lack of self-belief and frustration with this industry so another big thank you to them.

At We Out Here in 2021, Colleen 'Cosmo' Murphy's Love Dancin' tent saved me from a very ropey day I was having. I was so grateful for and inspired by the positive vibe and music of the tent that day that I decided to put together a mix for her, on cassette tape, like we used to back in the days, to give to her at her next Loft Party in London. Unfortunately that day she suffered a nasty head injury from a collision with a turntable (live by the sword...) and had to leave early, so I left it with her partner...

Since that day at WOH, I've dreamed about playing in that tent and this year the dream has come true! I'm playing with my beloved Balearic London crew on Saturday 16 August 2025 in Love Dancin' ahead of Colleen and one of my all-time heroes, François K. So it felt like the right time to finally upload this mix. It has a disco vein running through it, in keeping with the Loft spirit, but was more specifically inspired by Colleen's set that night. I loved seeing her in peak time mode and hope the sensual, organic flavours in this mix reflect some of her energy. It features many of my favourite tracks of all time, and a few of these are definitely shortlisted for my playlist this year. I hope you enjoy it and a huge thanks again to Colleen and WOH for inviting us!

My rework of his own rework of his classic 'Alien (Hold On To Your Dreams)', his own beautiful homage to the immigrant story of America. His re-recorded version was part of the posthumous 'Nothing New' compilation that XL Recordings released in 2014, featuring recordings from 2008 of some of his favourite works. I think that version of 'Alien' is so much more powerful than the original, the pain of the lyrics amplified by his then-gruffed-up voice. And it's a message we can all get behind right now particularly I think.
