The chorus comes straight from Dylan Thomas’s 1954 radio play Under Milk Wood, where Captain Cat, a blind sea captain, dreams of past lovers in the fictional Welsh village of Llareggub. I heard those lines and couldn’t get them out of my head, so they became a song.
