This opportunity we invited a loved friend Vinyan, from Zurich. 
We wanted to ask him some questions:

1. What do you think digging and musical curation have in common — whether it's building a set or choosing an artist for your label, Intersub?

Discovering old records hidden in shelves, that are almost some sort of a relict or a timestamp, is quite different than getting to know most of the artists we feature in real life after hearing them play or discovering them on various platforms.
This being said, it is still a similar process but instead of records, I find it’s interactions I have with artists we discover mostly in or around Zurich.

I like to push unknown artists whether it’s on a turntable or a compilation of our own imprint.
Zurich is small, so it isn’t uncommon to get to know each other at concerts, cultural events or at after parties in a basement if you’re down for it. I’m quite a social animal so it kinda comes easy and it gives me a lot of joy.

2. As someone who plays both live and DJ sets, what would you say is essential when developing a performance, whether it's live, played or recorded?

 If time allows, which mostly is the case, preparation is key - but a healthy amount of improvisation is what I like as well whether it’s live or djing. In the live context, maybe my drums and some basslines are pre planned to have a foundation and on top of this, melodies, chords and effects can be improvised.

In the club it’s similar. I might plan half the set to kinda have this foundation as well and to somewhat settle in to my surroundings. Depending the crowd and time I play, I let loose from those constructs earlier than expected.
But then as well, DJ sets with zero planning are nice. I like challenges!

3. How did you first get into music? Are there any particular influences that stand out for you and that you’d like to share?

When I was around 8 or 10 years old, my neighbour’s dad had these techno tapes he recorded from radio shows and we would sit in-front of the stereo system, hypnotised by those sounds coming out of the speakers, listening to them for hours.

After that, I got my hands on the cds and records from my dad as well, which had quite a wide range from trance, minimal, chill out to funk and disco.

After playing shortly in school and punk bands as a guitarist/bassist, it’s electronic music that stayed with me. For about 10 years now I’ve been DJing and producing - a place I still feel very at home in. Having my first proper studio in an air raid shelter allows me to keep following my passion for music and focussing on new projects as much as I can.

4. Could you tell us a bit about the electronic music scene in Zurich? And what did you take back with you from our city BA?

From my experience, we have a really supportive and vibrant underground scene for the size of our city.
People engage in each others projects, exchange knowledge, and are fierce for trying out new things.
Seeing the younger generation coming with fresh energy, motivation and the same ethos is great and therefore you see both young and old starting or part-taking in things like illegal clubs, offspaces, outdoor parties in the forests, or new labels - you name it.
 
Being able to visit Buenos Aires back in 2023 in the context of music. Getting to know Jeremy Flagelo in person, who I was connected to via Mati Espina a few years back. I was grateful having him and his D.I.Y approach in the mastering context on board for intersub. It’s this punk attitude I adore.spending time in Cyberwax, visiting a Pryma party. Closing this time with a little gathering celebrating the 2nd VA of Intersub with a listening session and all the people I met on a roof terrace was heartwarming.

Taking this energy back to Zurich helped me to continue having this motivation to connect people, share and make music together. Don’t forget to never stop doing what you love, ever.

Some artists build tracks. Others build entire channels for connection. For Berlin-based selector, producer, engineer, and label head Just_Me, the project has always been about more than just pressing play - it’s about pressing ideas into wax, giving edits a second life, and keeping one foot in the booth while the other tweaks compression settings in the backroom.

With releases on labels like Berg Audio, Tied, Hedzup, and now his own imprints Interkom Records and Coast2Coast, Just_Me has carved out a space where ’90s HipHop nostalgia rubs shoulders with sleek, future-facing house grooves - always with that signature bounce you’ll clock on the floor before you even clock the name on the sleeve.

His latest project, "Backspin", is the first vinyl statement on Interkom: a sci-fi arcade ride through the sounds that shaped him. Add in a heavyweight remix from Harry Wills, a new education platform called Headroom, and a Berlin basement or two still ringing from one of his sets - and it’s clear he’s not just mixing tracks, but whole worlds.

In this interview, Just_Me opens up about studio accidents turned club weapons, HipHop forever, the science of the bounce, and how staying patient, curious, and a little stubborn keeps the signal clear in a city that’s never quiet.

Schadenheimer fled Syria for Europe in 2016, eventually finding refuge in Germany. While working through personal challenges, they began exploring new wave, electronica and the raw aesthetics of post-punk, all of which shaped the sound and feel of this release.

Their first single, "Der Lärm in meinem Kopf / Selbstliebe ist egal" reflects a state of inner unrest. Drawing from experiences of war, migration and personal struggle, Schadenheimer shares a direct and honest take on what it means to live with constant noise/war within.

This release comes from something deeply personal but speaks to a broader experience. While rooted in the trauma of displacement and emotional conflict, the songs touch on something many can relate to. They explore self-doubt, emotional numbness and the quiet pull of self-sabotage.

According to Schadenheimer, despite the weight of these themes - there was always a sense that something within could carry them forward. That feeling doesn’t remove the struggle, but it helps to keep moving.

PRST Club resident duo Apua and Stipo have been pivotal in the progress of Austria’s underground scene. Regularly being called upon to support the visiting talent to their home city of Vienna, these two rising artists are stars in the making themselves. As well as both artists being part of the Vienna Worldwide collective, Stipo is the founder of the Rhythm Science imprint. 

Having seen what they can do when Stipo was part of our Easter PRST egg-travaganza, we couldn't wait for the pair to join our InSession series. They have not disappointed as they raise the levels from the first track. With the funk dialled up to eleven from the outset, they quickly shift through percussive house, vocal gems, before shifting up a gear with chunky tech house. Regardless of the subgenre, Apua and Stipo always maintain their love of vibe-heavy stunners.
