So what happens when you take perfection, like lets say Nina Agdal and put Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough on top of her... Perfect x 2... Initially I was making a metaphor as to how our remix made this even better, but in retrospect this just sounds really cocky... so our bad.. just enjoy the remix, its very fun!"

Strange Talk - Young Hearts (The Chainsmokers Remix)

The new ‘All You Could Do’ EP from rising Brit electronica star, club musician and DJ Alex Banks see him exploring similar territory to his eclectic Monkeytown label bosses Modeselektor, fusing techno crunch with the electro-indie songwriting suss of groups such as Animal Collective.

Picked acoustic guitar comes together with pulsating machine rhythms, all made emotive and human by the melancholic vocals of Alex’s Brighton associate Elizabeth Bernholz of Gazelle Twin. As well as the original ‘All You Could Do’, in all its moody fierceness, there’s a beautifully stark pulsating remix by German DJ-producer Phon.o, a haunting slow techno ‘Alternate’ take, and a brand new tune called ‘Phosphorus’ that comes on like the mighty Crystal Castles raving it up at a Polish warehouse party.

All in all, it’s a package that presents Banks as a name to watch and makes his new album, ‘Illuminate’, all the more eagerly anticipated.

Die beiden Neulinge auf 50 WEAPONS lassen auf beiden Tracks die große Leiermaschine aus dem Käfig und verrutschen damit den Dancefloor leicht in der Horizontalen. Wie nach einem dicken Hatschi wird Taumeln zum Normalzustand und Sterne sieht man sowieso. Herrliche Angelegenheit. Dabei wollen die beiden nur rocken, ohne wenn und aber. Mit der festgebundenen Hand am Glider wird das aber zu einer komplett neue Erfahrung. Unscharf sehen, das wollen wir ja schon lange, auf dem Dancefloor schweben ist aber auch nicht schlecht.

Note about the Song: We actually first heard the song via Monsieur Adi’s Remix and thought it was awesome but were curious to hear the original, so we checked it out and loved Say Lou Lou's original but thought there was still room for a really upbeat version with our progressive indie flare (we hate the word flare). What really appealed to us about Say Lou Lou was they have this renegade softness, its sorta punk but not, that makes no sense right, but there is sort of care-free beautiful nature to there voices and we thought we could make a summer anthem with this baby, or die trying (side note: at no point were we close to death in the making of this remix) So we got the stems, and wanted to create something that really screams 'let me in I want to fucking dance, but I also brought my own beer.'  So here is how we did it:

Benjamin Damage is an innovative UK techno artist, the first artist signed to Berlin’s legendary 50Weapons label and the last to release an album at its closure. This period produced three critically acclaimed albums and many EPs, drawing from diverse sources to help define the crossover UK / Berlin techno sound.

As well as two, highly charged four-tracks for Len Faki’s Figure label and ‘Deep Space Transit’ on ARTS, Benjamin put out two stinging dance floor cuts as BDB, a secret collab with label mates, Feel My Bicep. A live-recorded cut for Jeff Mill’s Axis Records was released this year. 

Performing on an all-hardware setup, Benjamin’s storming live performances have lit up the best clubs and festivals all around the world. The powerful setup has been fully redeveloped for 2021.
