@djt's impressive 2022 continues with new single 'Rapture' on the Get Physical label he co-founded.

Thomas Koch aka DJ T. has been as busy as ever in the last year or so. His club-focussed singles continue to bring fresh sounds and influences while he also launched a new label, Pura Danza, and a new alias, Mathami, which found him delving deep into the Ecstatic Dance movement. After a recent outing ‘Blaze’ with Simon Sheldon & Loew, he now steps out in solo mode once more.

The magical ‘Rapture’ captures the intense joy of being lost on a dance floor, blinded by lights and bathed in melody. It’s a widescreen track built on a dynamic, loopy groove that is overloaded with silky synths. The pads hint at cosmic disco and the breakdown is one that will send shivers across the dance floor.

Istanbul-based and Soul Clap Records and Fools’ Gold artist Zeynep Erbay delivers two beautifully melodic tracks for Exploited which draw on her classical piano training and eclectic tastes.
‘Dream Of You’ begins with phasing chord pads swirling around a hypnotic spoken vocal, with twangy bass and driving Italo beats soon bursting into life. Stuttering synths build the melodic progression before a glassy lead line chimes in with a gorgeous, fluffy melody that forms the heart of this glorious track. Halfway through, old skool house style electric piano chords trade places with the lead to provide a soaring mood switch, with more fizzing melody and great use of delays and snare, tom and kick fills to keep things moving.
‘Disillusion’ is a touch deeper, with a pleasingly phasing bassline pulse underpinning melancholic chord changes played out by beautiful, crystalline arps and deft chords. Shades of classic progressive house creep in as acidic gurgles rub up against spacious delays and vividly morphing synth sequences. It’s a super-classy piece of work that brings with it a real sense of emotion and atmosphere.

Ukraine’s AIKON meets Sobek in this masterful collaboration. A thumping breakbeat rhythm forms the backbone of this haunting track, where clanking chimes meander amidst shrill, bitcrushed, pitch-bending synth lines. A mystical breakdown lays down mellifluous flute motifs, brooding, buzzing bass and a mosquito of a synth hook that are all smashed into the ether when the pummeling rhythm kicks back into life. Play this loud, close your eyes, and you’ll be transported into another dimension.
Adrian Roman gets brutal on his heavy remix, drafting in huge tribal drum hits that are reminiscent of the Japanese taiko, contrasting their off-kilter rhythm with a solid deep techno backbone and really amping up the atmospheric melodic elements to potent effect. ID_UA takes things deeper on their remix, into more hypnotic territory where bleepy riffs and throbbing bass pummel you into submission, while Buba rounds off the reworks with a slick breaks version with a sci-fi edge that pushes the original into the depths of outer space.
