Burned out, lying on the bed,  
the world outside feels like your enemy.  
Tomorrow morning circles above you,  
and you think now — you are dying.

in one row with all the poetry.  
Sagan’s novels pulled you out of the deep again —  
the last first rescue... but how long will it last?  
You really don’t care.  

What’s the meaning of all this education,  
if the only thing that matters is your destiny?  
Temples are empty, God’s hands are trembling,  
a homeless brother asking for his daily fee.  

Finally you leave one of a million flats,  
joining the flow of workers on the streets.  
Factories — beasts with a gaping maw —  
ready to swallow and chew small bites of dreams.  

It’s 6 a.m., but you don’t care,  
dressed in black, with mirrored glasses.  
“Where is your turning point?” you ask  
those empty faces on the streets.  
The answer fades beneath the whisper of pigeons’ wings...  

What’s the meaning of all this education,

Another day, another night.  
One of the long line of carriages in your train —  
first class or sleepers —  
just passing by.  

And you stay.
