I've been working on this track since March 19, trying desperately to figure out how long I wanted it to be and what the ending could possibly be since the original song is a loop that doesn't have one.

When I started making a couple breakthroughs, I noticed I was at 46,000 listens, and decided to knuckle down and get this shit finished for 50,000, and then I accidentally went on vacation and when I got home last night, I was at 51,300. You guys are unbelievable. I have a thank you that takes up the entire last minute, but the short version is, thank you all so much for listening to the nonsense that I make and having the same sense of humor as I do. Here's to another great year!

The Milky Way Express

This here is a track that was originally made for an ice-themed tower defence game aimed at kids around 8+ (it's a university project which a friend of mine is a part of). It's now a lot more well-known as a theme for the third level in Geometry Dash!

Note: if this version sounds slower to you, then don't worry, it's not just you! This is the original version, not the Geometry Dash edit. It's got an extra section, loops, and is a bit slower. Still essentially the same song though :).

I had a real blast making this, and it's in a genre I've never made before. As much as I love orchestral, you can't really achieve such a high energy in an orchestral track as easily, and I've realised that making energetic tracks is pretty enjoyable!

Benny Oschmann was born in 1987 in Kassel, Germany. He took professional trumpet and piano lessons from an early age and played in numerous orchestras and ensembles.

After high-school Benny studied music theory and composition at the Academy of Music Kassel and graduated with an A-grade.

In 2009 he joined Dynamedion as a composer and orchestrator.

In 2013 Benny won an Aggie Award in the category Best music for his soundtrack to The Raven – Legacy of a Master Thief.

He was part of the jury for the 2nd German Game Music Awards in 2014.

In 2015 he won the acclaimed German Game Developer Award in the category Best sound for his soundtrack for The Book of Unwritten Tales 2. In the same year his music was recorded with the Hollywood Studio Symphony in the world-famous Warner Bros. Eastwood Scoring Stage.
