The musical output of Sprechen officially gets underway with an outstanding EP of mutant, stomping, twisted disco from Damon Jee that comes with 2 mind melting remixes from Hardway Bros and Il Est Vilaine.

Summer No Summer kicks of proceedings and instantly gets you on the hook with a powerhouse snare stomp thats soon partnered with a low slung arpeggiator bassline and warped pads, wonky crashes…an all important change in key will make your dopamine levels boil over and the dance floor look like a scene from Backdraft…reach for the beans, its a hell of a builder!

Cuir Rouge thunders out of the gate in the same manner of its predecessor and continues to wiggle its hypnotic wonkiness across its 6 & 1/2 minutes run time…perfectly placed drops & sweeps along with some nightmarish stabs for added weirdness lead the way for a pretty awesome breakdown to allow the lasers to be reached for….stick it up to Defcon 10.

Hardway Bros tackles Summer No Summer with remix gusto and the result is a full on Balearic-psych workout that will guarantee to take matters on a techni-coloured trip to the dance floor cosmos…with some added guitar twanging by Tici Taci's very own Duncan Gray, this remix is prepped & ready for those moments when you really want to throw things as leftifeld as possible and take the audience along to phase 2 of the journey.

Having had a recent sell out release on Kompakt the guys from Il Est Vilaine sprinkle some remix dust over Cuir Rouge and completely flip the script…soaring pads from the get go lead the way to some dubbed out vocals of their very own before dropping with a full on slamming bass line & echo'd synth lines…this is main stage action at its finest!

As Connected arrives at its 3rd year of existence, the team have decided to put together a compilation of tracks old and new that showcases its musical diversity.

On this sampler are brand new remixes from Olaf Stuut, Tim Engelhardt, Stefano Ritteri, Reboot and Moscoman, and they will be released on vinyl alongside a brand new track from label heads Stereo MC’s, plus the first appearance on vinyl of classic connected release ‘Lust’ by Tigerskin K.E.E.N.E and Elli (David Mayer Remix). The full compilation, meanwhile, features catalogue cuts by David Mayer, Re.You, Nandu, Florian Busse, Aaaron, Floyd Lavine and Pôngo amongst others.

Amsterdam native Olaf Stuut delivers a superbly stripped down remix of Re.You that comes as a real musical journey. The track is mainly driven by a repetitive 808 drum beat, housed in an arrangement that is packed with sound design and work on the detail. With his latest releases Olaf has been exploring the borders between experimentation and club functionality, and he's doing so again here to great effect.

PREMIERE: Re.You - They Vibed feat. Lazarusman (Olaf Stuut Remix) [Connected]

Just in time for summer, Pampa issued Aimlessness, the long-awaited new album from Dntel AKA Los Angeles producer Jimmy Tamborello. His latest electronic suite brought forth stronger leanings toward house grooves, building upon the pop and IDM approaches he explored earlier in his career as half of the Postal Service and a member of Figurine – with a healthy dose of Pampa otherworldliness on top. 

Now, Robag Wruhme steps in and recontextualizes two Aimlessness cuts for a remix EP. Wruhme is already a beloved member of DJ Koze’s extended family, having released the full-length Thora Vukk about one year ago, which was deemed “another success for both him and Pampa” in Resident Advisor’s four-star review.

First up is Robag’s “Kloff Mottüré” mix of “Bright Night”, a starry-eyed transformation of Dntel’s work that twinkles like fireflies in the clear midnight sky. With symphonic splashes, playful pitter-patters and a tranquil breakdown, it sounds a bit like teenage toads skinny-dipping amongst the lilypads.

Next up, Robag finds inspiration in Dntel’s “Jitters”, not once but twice:  The “Marf Labo” mix takes the title quite literally, offering a jittery breakbeat interpretation with a metallic angel chorus swirling over the haphazard beats. Finally, on the flip side, the “Emmens Worsch” mix brings things more closely aligned with the grooving, heartfelt house thump that Pampa has engendered. It’s the EP’s most DJ-friendly cut, while at the same time showing off Robag’s gentle production touches and letting Tamborello’s sweet, subdued voice shine through.

Dntel - Bright Night (Robags Kloff Mottüré Mix)

Salon Acapulco, the sunshine latin disco kings as GDD blog ideally describes, revives the latin flavor of salsa blended with house and disco music. This past year they have played in festivals such as Hellow Fest, Festival 72810, Neon Fest, as well as touring around the US.
"Aire" is a track that embodies the fascination with glamour and excess set in the heart of what Mexican dandy Mauricio Garces's extravagant night life would be; truly an ace up the sleeve track for the height of any party. 
The Acid Washed version preserves the original intention while adding their acid analogue touch and sharp pop aesthetics.
Record Makers fame Acid Washed was an obvious choice for remixing Aire. The epic nature of the track is accentuated to glorious disco proportions like only the French duo can bring.
