"Normally we spend an obscene amount of time preparing mixes but not much thought went into this one. It was really just plug and play, and the first couple of tracks cleared the way for the rest. We’ve been fortunate enough to play lots of shows in 2023, so we got to learn through trial and error, what makes us tick behind the decks. This mix is basically an organic A-Z amalgamation of that. Tried and tested while cleaning house!"

@abdulraeva, aka powerhouse duo Steffan Todorović and Joonas Arro, have been making waves with their consistent, no nonsense club tool releases. We’re stoked to catch up with them ahead of their first South-East Asia / Australia tour.

We are incredibly excited to have the amazing Byron Yeates as the 45th mix in our series! 

Byron is a DJ that really needs no introduction. As head of Radiant Records, based in Berlin, Yeates has served his signature sound at Club SMUT, Bassiani, Club Raum, Nowadays and Fold, amongst others. As well as heading up La Noche alongside S-CANDALO (sibling duo THC and DHC), Yeates also holds a bimonthly residency at Berlin's Refuge Radio. 

Yeates' sets, which have been known to span over 8 hours, bounce, tease, punch and often soar. They are inflected with an attitude that can at once be incredibly playful and theatrically sincere, a duality that animates the queer lineage of electronic dance music in which Yeates places himself. The femme vocal is mixed into thumping progressive trance, which in turn meets a throwback house track, or swerves down to the nod of downtempo. What remains consistent through Yeates' selections is a heady depth, keen and delicate melodies, and a forcefulness that never lets surprise step off the dancefloor.

If you know us, you know much we adore Byron.. we’re so delighted to finally have him on our mix series after his quite legendary closing set at Club SMUT this past February. Enjoy!!
