Maybe he did prep for the debate, but said that he didn't in order to lower expectations. That's something that Ben hinted at in the beginning of this podcast that Trump should've done.

After watching this debate, I feel that Ben Shapiro was spot on about his hypothesis on the debate. Although I feel President Trump dominated Biden in this debate, he must learn to stay quite. In doing so he will appear less defensive.
