After a hiatus which has left many fans sitting on the edge of their subs, Calyx & Teebee are making a dramatic return. And with this record in tow, the scene is about to bow down yet again to two of their most skilled sonic crafters. 

With the huge success of their All or Nothing LP laying just over the horizon, Calyx & Teebee are about to take the title place yet again and with the full throttle forces of pounding basslines and meticulously constructed mechanics. But what else could you expect from two revered veterans of the genre, whose joint muscle has telescoped the competition in comparison. 

However, it’s not just their duteous workmanship and full-throttle drive that makes their music so undeniably huge. In tracks like ‘A Day That Never Comes’ Larry Con’s vocals lead you by the hand into all-out anarchy. Revving between each break, your picked up and dropped by verbal crescendos. Angry, yet innovative and impressively intricate, Calyx & Teebee have raised expectations even higher.

This combination of Royalston’s engineering expertise and musical pedigree renders an all-encompassing fusion of everything that makes drum & bass great.
 
‘What We Were Told’ ft ‘Amy Kisnorb’ is your staple drum & bass roller, in overdrive. It’s a twofold bass attack featuring wobbles and growls balanced with Amy’s angelic vocals. This track will be causing carnage in clubs and warehouses across the land with it’s constant evolution and high energy throughout.
 
Title track ‘Popular Mechanics’ is everything we love about Royalston. A trio of transformation; beginning gently with an uplifting melody which morphs into deeper techier terrain then reaching its climax with a finale of mind warping bass crunches.
 
Taking things back, Royalston explores a more traditional landscape in the form of ‘Strobes’. With customarily blissful vocals, this track is vintage Med School. Preparing for the halloween season, two Asian duo projects, Oriental Cravings (AUS) and Beauz (US) have teamed up in the lab to create the monster of a track that is "Baba Yaga". 
Literally meaning "Boogeyman", the production showcases horrific sounds ranging from hard hitting melodies to dancey percussion, ultimately simulating the creation of the Boogeyman through sound.
