INA Brussels singer-songwriter INA Geerts. 
Since my childhood, I am busy with music. Through the years I developed myself the most in singing and composing songs. I play the piano and the accordion in a basic way and I compose instinctively. I look for the ‘match’ between the chords and the musicality of a text. But I also love to use other writers material. This love for language comes also through my work as an actress. Every language has such a different rhythm and musicality. 

In 2009 I started my singer-songwriter project. A year later I met trumpet player Luc van Lieshout (Tuxedomoon / Flat Earth Society FES) during a concert. I was so impressed by his sound and improvisation talent. I told him about my project and Luc proposed me to record some songs at his home studio. He liked my music and we organized different recording sessions.
Luc took care of the musical arrangements and the soundmix. We chose 8 tracks. Our first album 'GapTeeth' was a fact. In march 2012 we started to play concerts with the full band. Our EP 'City foxes under a blue moon sky' was recorded @ Ostend @ Paul Zahl's Saddle Up Studio.

INA's music has a warm jazzy character through the combination of the instruments and the spirit of the songs. 
With a sultry cool empathic intimate deep clear voice she sings about the things of life. Songs about love, life and death, with a fine burst of humor. It brings us back to smoky clubs in Berlin or Paris from a long time ago. The apparently simple compositions are draw open through the arrangements they get a bedding through the brass players 
and are turned up through the sweltering rhythm section.

In January 2013 Tom Robinson gave us twice airplay in the BBC 6 radio The Tom Robinson show. 
He invited us to be his support act for his concert in Ieper Belgium in February 2013.

New Sounds of Europe recorded in the winter of 2014 a live version of the song LES AMANTS in Brussels @ the Rossi Contemporary Gallery.

INA made for the first time music for the theatre performance OVERTHETOP by Wooshing MAchine a duo by Ayelen Parolin and INA Geerts September 2015.

There is a lot of silence, within the music played by this duo. Neither by chance, nor because of a lack of ideas. One could say it’s a form of respect for the music, or a mirror of the players’ personalities.
Always torn between the love for free improvisation and the one for written music, they are seeking a mutual balance between the two, often starting from one to later land on the other, the focus of their approach being always the sound and timber of each instrument.
Their compositions are often simple, refined, melodic, sometimes complex, elaborate.
