yooo - new stuff is coming soon - here comes a first snippet from my upcoming album.

the concept was to organize all my samples I took over the last ten years and do something new with them. there is stuff from different unreleased studio sessions with band setup, way more recordings from the noclip sessions, but also a lot of stuff I've recorded with my phone or a zoom recorder while traveling around and being on tour. I (re-)discovered soo many beautiful and funny sounds.

the album is based on my scholarship project for @musikfonds and would not have been realized without them - thank you so much!

SOUNDCITY FREIBURG 2023 / Festival: Sub-, Club- & Pop-Kultur
Videoinstallation: RoboTart (Video) & Bensnburner (Sound) @ öffentlicher Raum 
Die Visuals dieser Big-Data-Projektion speisen sich aus den Vinyl- und CD-Covern einer kollaborativen Work-in-Progress-Datenbank auf discogs.com, die eine kuratierte Auswahl von Tonträgern mit unterschiedlichen Bezügen zu der Stadt Freiburg versammelt (check: www.discogs.com/de/user/soundcityfreiburg/collection).
Die Visuals werden durch einen modularen Synthesizer erzeugt, der sich der Fernsehtechnik der 70er und 80er bedient. Audioreaktiv bewegt wird das Video durch eine(n) Musikcollage/Remix der Musik, die sich hinter den Covern verbirgt.

bunsenburner, the genre-defying collective known for their experimental prowess, is dropping their highly-anticipated EP, "Squall", on May 3rd, 2024, via bensnburner records. This release marks a milestone, capturing their essence in a condensed, powerful form.

"Squall" blends stoner rock, sludge metal, and doom metal, showcasing their musical range with newfound precision. Recorded in a single intense session, the EP's title, "Squall", was inspired by an unexpected neighbor's protest against the noise.

Despite challenges, the band's unity and resolve were unwavering, strengthening their artistic integrity. "Squall" is more than just an EP; it's a declaration of their evolved sound, with the entire recording session available as a video for fans.

The limits of a digital game are best if you do not notice them or if they are narrative in themselves. If you feel well in a defined area, because it already gives you enough riddles and contains mysteries, you do not want to go outside. On the other hand, there is the attraction of the forbidden, the question of what lies behind it. 

In the game DOOM, there is a separate cheat code for exiting the given margin: "noclip". Once activated, I can walk through walls and enemies, and the outer walls of each level are no longer an obstacle. 


Actually, I turn on the mini-map and see that I'm getting more and more out of the existing world into the big nothing, farther and farther away from the familiar spaces, towards an infinite void. DOOM does not crash, but the further I step out of the designed room, the more the presentation becomes a confusing loop: walls, enemies, even my weapon multiply, dissolve in a thick layer of overlays. This is not for all eyes, and yet a feature. 

"Noclip" is for those geeks who are happy to have discovered something that no-one has ever seen before. At least believe it.

this album was recorded in an empty 400 square meter hangar with 30 meters high ceiling just to let the sound breath as much as possible. 

the huge reverb inspired to dig deeper into the world of floating atmospheres and ambient drones. 

the production is packed with solo-driven moods along with synth and pedalboard-spirit, heavy post-rock tracks in a classic band-setup as well as experimental collaborations with different artists, bringing in their own way to get along with this very different recording situation
