EKLEKTI - TEL AVIV (1.9.22)

Back where it all started - the wonderful folks at Musotopia had me back again to play my new hardware liveset. Full of originals and edits (both the ironic and completely unironic kind, of course!)This one's way more peak-time and dancefloor oriented than the set I wrote opening for @acidpauli one year ago.

I started composing livesets in my room at the start of the pandemic, hoping to play them one day in front of actual audiences around Berlin. Playing Musotopia back in 2021 was the first chance I really got to play to a "real" dancefloor - so you can imagine how happy I was to do this all over again one year later surrounded by Camp Schlampagne and the rest of my burner community. And to the Monkeys - i can hear you on the recording at 24:30... oh you ;D

Thanks especially to @konchord and @farn-belrin for having me (plus all the tech support!) and Cloud Kinski for a truly electronic-rockstar set beforehand:)

Oxi One (best performance midi sequencer on the market, fight me)

Malandra Jr offers a unique and sophisticated product by mixing his deep knowledge of classical music with electronics. Melodies, harmonies, rhythm with bucolic shades, tradition, innovation and bass lines - all deep and pressing. His musical perception loves minor keys and usually starts his projects with a nice breath, a little overture, and then rhythm and groove painted with strong bassline and slick case in a perfect underground style!

Gefangen im Strudel 

Die Gedanken rotieren im Kreis und verbleiben doch auf der Stelle. Apathisch drehe ich mich von links nach rechts und dann wieder von rechts nach links. Um mich herum ist es dunkel. Von Zeit zu Zeit falle ich in einen traumlosen Schlaf. Dann schrecke ich wieder hoch. 3 Stunden sind vergangen, doch ich fühle mich trotzdem ausgelaugt und schwach. Deshalb liege ich einfach nur da. Ich versuche mittlerweile gar nicht mehr meine Gedanken aktiv zu beeinflussen. Ich habe mich dahingehend aufgegeben und akzeptierte meine miserable Verfassung. Wahrscheinlich bin ich mit meinem jetzigen Zustand einer Depression so nah wie nie zuvor. Doch in diesem Moment bleibt mir nichts anders übrig, als mich dieser Schwere hinzugeben und mich in den Strudel der Negativität und Passivität gleiten zu lassen. 

Der Podcast von Hools verbreitet eine melodisch-akzentuierte Atmosphäre der Hoffnung und Zuversicht. Jeder Takt wirkt stimmig und trifft auf tief schlummernde Emotionen. Die Frequenzen wirken aktivierend. Die Gefühle wollen gefühlt und gelebt werden, ganz gleich ob sie positiver oder negativer Natur sind.

Ben Tov can be regularly found locked away in his studio, jamming together ideas and carving out his deep signature analog synth-lines and grooves for his next upcoming release. With a slew of releases already under his belt, and constant releases on labels such as Katz and Kautz Deeplomatic and Harabe. His latest release Nuwe Reen reached number 14 in the Melodic House and Indie Dance Beat Port Charts.

Ben Tov has traveled the world and played in several different countries. His sound is influenced by the various cultures he has met along the way.

In 2021 Ben Tov started to create a series of successful events called Valhalla. These events take place in unique locations around Cape Town and focus on delivering an unforgettable musical journey that focuses on different styles of electronic music blended into one night.
