Interference

Walking in the city as an observer is meditative. I often wear my headphones and just walk around and almost get to meditative state watching people doing their thing. 
Stuff going on, people passing by. Some are really busy others sitting on park benches. Arguing on daily matters, drinking beer. Tourists observing old houses and listening to local guides pretending to be interested in the history of the place. Streetlights alternating between red, yellow and green. Cars stopping, letting people cross the road, then again speeding up. Public transport picking up crowds and letting them out as a stream of people. Sometimes. Rather seldom however, animals. A cat here and there, small birds chirping in the bushes.
Just walk around, observe and let the day pass towards evening.

A great source of good ideas is driving. My favourite car pushing down the streets. Streetlights passing by in an empty night city. 
It’s nice and warm inside. You feel cosy and secure. An ambient tune booming from your excellent multi speaker car stereo. You can feel the bass from the subwoofer and highs are as crisp as ever. You don’t feel sleepy, even though it’s 5AM and the city is well asleep. You’re energetic but calm, having fun, aimlessly drivig about to the parts of town you’ve never been to before. It’s just your car and a few taxis here and there. Night Drive.

Night Drive

On the hottest summer, a rainy day might be the best thing that could happen. You wake up see the raindrops outside of the glass and feel the melancholy. Sometimes it's good not to go out at all and just stay inside feeling cosy. You light up the fireplace, brew some good tea and go on with your day. No fear of missing out, no anxiety about things that you should do outside. It's raining. It's fine to stay indoors and meditate the whole day.

Vihm

Days tend to get short during the winters up here in the northern hemisphere. Also when it's not night it's mostly semi-dark because of clouds here in Estonia. This is why I always appreciate early spring. We haven't seen sun for months and been in our homes trying to keep warm. And suddenly, it's bright outside. Snow is starting to melt and nature is waking up. Walking int he park, seeing smiles all around and chirping birds in the trees create a nice atmosphere here in the city.

When people needed to leave the old then it had to be blown away by strong winds. Often elders or witches were visited to get a clear mind and they used this spell to summon an almighty wind that would blow away our troubles so we can leave the old to embrace the new.

Recorded in 2020 using analog tape to capture the warmth and subtle imperfections of vintage recording methods, the track was later digitalized to blend the richness of old-school techniques with modern accessibility. "sosinad" challenges us to listen more closely, not just to the gentle sounds around us, but to the whispers of our own intuition and the soft-spoken wisdom that often goes unheard in the daily cacophony of life.

Sosinad

Hailing from Estonia, Bent Rushmore is a standout artist in the blues and electronic music scenes. He is best known for his role as the lead guitarist in the popular band, Köömes.

Bent's formative years were shaped under the shadow of the Soviet Union, where Estonia was part of the communist superpower. During that era, popular western genres like disco and rock'n'roll were prohibited, forcing these music styles into the underground. Bent's father, a taxi driver by day, clandestinely smuggled vinyl records at night. He purchased LPs from visiting foreigners, recorded the music on cassette tapes, and discreetly distributed these to local DJs and music enthusiasts. This not only served as a supplemental income but also exposed Bent to a vast array of music.

Bent took part in this covert operation, often pressing the "record" and "dolby" buttons during these recording sessions. It was through these experiences that Bent's profound appreciation for music was kindled. By the 90s, while still in high school, Bent began to DJ, using his father's music collection as his foundation.

Despite his early immersion in music, it wasn't until 2005 that Bent picked up an instrument - an electric guitar. While showing off his newfound skills playing Nirvana songs, he discovered that his good friend had secretly purchased a bass guitar and had been practicing. This revelation led to the formation of the band "Köömes." The two friends enlisted a drummer, began writing songs, and started rehearsing in the drummer's basement.

Köömes has since evolved, expanding into a six-member rock band with four studio albums under its belt. The band's music has gained significant airplay on Estonian radios and has graced stages across the country.

While Bent continues to contribute to Köömes, he has also pursued his solo career. In 2017, he released his first solo album "Soi Dog," a melancholic blues album that reflects on the struggles and mundanity of everyday life. The album, released on digital platforms and vinyl, grapples with existential questions, acknowledging our collective struggle to find meaning in life.

In 2018, Bent ventured into electronic music production, experimenting with keyboards and synthesizers. This new direction culminated in the 2019 release of his meditative album "Steps to Calmness." Bent describes the album as a soothing balm for our chaotic world, hoping that his music can help listeners find inner tranquility.

Bent's musical journey is far from over. He continues to craft new music and anticipates future releases in both the blues and electronic genres. Stay tuned for more from this diverse and ever-evolving artist.
