The track list is a journey itself, going from South American mid tempo, to Shamanic downtempo, to Middle Eastern deep house, to Latin tribal house, to Playa tech, to Ambient cumbia dub. 

Each song represents the multicultural influences of the artists, and shows the diversity of the Sol Selectas sound.

Derrick Vnuk is both a charismatic and emotional DJ who has earned an honorary title as one of Vancouver’s top acts. Dj’ing for over two decades, Derrick and his sound have evolved, but what has been preserved is his passion for record selecting, flawless mixing, and the music and its scene.

With a unique ability to bend genres, he explores the deeper sides of house by drawing from a plethora of musical subgenres including emotional indie dance, synth-heavy cheeky Italo disco, rhythmically heavy breakbeat, and melodic techno with a harder edge. While his credentials include 20 plus years of DJ’ing and being the co-founder of Vancouver production company ‘Leave Us Lost’, it’s his music that earns him respect.

A true storyteller who has mastered the art of communicating emotion without words, Derrick’s moody melodies, intricate bass lines, and atmospheric tracks speak for him.

With releases on Bar 25, New Violence and Slightly Sizzled, 'FairPlay', a Jordanian alliterative duo, characterised by deep and unpredictable underground tracks make their debut here on Nightcolours.

'Apeture' fuses a swaggering groove with piano lines and electronica sounds, some subby bass and some uplifting vocal snippets.

On remix duties, Hailing from Germany and France, Boy Oh Boy. With their music gracing Poesie Musik and Lauter., the talented pair deliver a dramatic reworking, chunkier edged with an undulating soundscape that flows from deep to energetic. 

'South of the Border' has a a bubbly and infectious, yet quirky vibe, before subtly layering as the intensity increases.

And to round things off nicely, 'Leevo' is a moody and enthralling slab of coolness, deep and mysterious, with its crisp percussion and cool piano.

Stil & Bense make their Get Physical debut this February as the pair prepare to release their two-track EP, ‘Natural High’. 

Title cut ‘Natural High’ is an exemplary example of the duos interwoven styles, delivering a dynamic production guided by mesmerising pads, enchanting vocal chants and dreamy synth lines. ‘Tonight’ leads us down a slightly darker path as sweeping atmospherics float atop of rolling drums and icy snares, marking an impressive debut and another high-quality addition to their growing catalogue. 

Germany-based DJ/ production duo Tom and Arne, aka Stil & Bense both originate from two completely different backgrounds within the electronic music scene. Stil is an experienced DJ, whilst Arne has an expansive musical knowledge which he gained during his studies.
