Brazilian talent Gabi Fischer joins Miura Records with "Deep Inside": A trippy, introspective track inspired by 90s progressive House sounds with a fierce, driving vibe.

Deep Inside

House music doesn’t get much funkier than Demuir’s ‘New Spirit’ EP. Whether it’s the classic sampling on the title track – an homage to his mother-, or the rolling funk bass and vocal chops on ‘Ain’t no stoppin’ ‘, Demuir brings an unstoppable groove with his 2nd release on Heist.

The man behind so many great house records has kept himself rather busy with building his own fanbase, openly debating the role that big platforms play and the firm grip they have on talent. Rather than conforming to the standard route, Demuir chooses to navigate the winding road of building his own following through his production classes, engineering and music releases through artist-first channels like Patreon.

His recent move from Toronto to Chicago feels perfectly in line with the sound Demuir is bringing forward on his first record on Heist since his 2019 classic ‘Werq, feel, gruv, vogue’. Those 6 years were well worth the wait: The ‘New Spirit’ EP  is a perfectly-balanced mix of creativity, confidence and character. The Demuir sound is instantly audible throughout the release and he’s not afraid to make bold choices. Each track has its own identity, its own place on the record and it’s one of the things that make this record stand out in the best way possible. The forward-leaning grooves, the tight mixing and the classic use of soulful samples are a treat to listen and dance to. There’s hints of the 90s New York sound (New Spirit), soulful disco-tinged grooves his new home-town is known for (Ain’t no stoppin’), lean-back and summery melodic grooves (No minions allowed) and deep, bassheavy dubby grooves (Whatchu want is all I got) to remind everyone that Demuir is an absolute master of modern day house music.

"House pioneer Louie Vega originally collaborated with Detroit maverick Moodymann on 'Seven Mile' back in 2022 for his ‘Expansions in The NYC’ album. The original single is included here in a short version, along with a gorgeously jazzy Louie Instrumental Demo, and a superb selection of remixes from some of dance music's most vital names. Dutchman Dennis Quin is a house champion with credits on labels like Defected, Madhouse Records, and PIV. His remix is a kicking house workout, with Moodymann's vocals weaving through the mix, adding smoky soul. These are then stripped away for a more raw instrumental version. Frenchman Rocco Rodamaal is a veteran of the scene for over 20 years, having played all over the world and is a major player in deep house. His Deep Down Mix has been a big hit on global dance floors for Louie already and carefully cooks up a grand, hypnotic sound that consumes the crowd and locks them into its absorbing grooves. Next is Kai Alce, another deep and soulful master who heads up NDATL from his base in Atlanta. His remix is a bumping one with stiﬀ snares and a growling low end that's lit up by sophisticated chords that glow bright and with inescapable warmth. Rodamaal then works with Parisian producer Alex Finkin on a remix which centres on cosmic and twinkling melodies and spiritual synth lines that weave in and out of Moodyman's musings. Rocco then goes solo on "Bubbly Dubby Mix" with neat chord loops and textured shakers, before oﬀering a pared-down instrumental. Next is Charles Levine from Soul Clap, the Boston duo famous for their loved-up e-funk sound. His remix is the most direct of the package with chunky drums lit up by prickly synths and meandering jazzy leads that speak to the soul. His Wild Remix turns everything up a notch with more unhinged synths and raucous drums, closing out an essential EP that features cultured house sounds for every moment of the night."

Argentina's Toomy Disco turns in a no-nonsense six-tracker of club-ready house with a nostalgic core and a modern pulse. 'I'm Yours' kicks off with hypnotic keys, thick basslines and a silky vocal loop, while Furz flips it into a late-night cut, adding smoky depth and a more measured swing. 'Coffee Rush' leans funky and bright, primed for outdoor rotation.
