I am an animal farmer( pigs,goats,chickens,rabbits) in the daytime. I am a pianist at night to pay the bills. I play regularly 3 nights a week at the same club for the past 15 years in New Jersey . I also still work in Manhattan for certain functions and parties I had played for years if they get stuck. No money in farming. I write, play and record and mix all of my  music here at my farm in Southampton NJ USA.

It takes people like him in stormy times like these. Unconditional philantrophists to quiet the scenery.  Untouched, clever bards and the enthralling power of their songs. Ladies ’n’ Gents, please welcome: ­Pimało (spoken: Pimawo) alias Mario Alsleben. The title of his freshly dropped LP alone transports this deep peace which surrounds the musical aura of this native Eisenacher. “All the trees are still moving“ is the unconcerned, sometimes melancholic-implied proof that in the tradition-laden City of Wartburg not only Luther and Opel are synonymous with added value, but this friendly middle-aged man, whose well-trimmed beard is the perfect icing on the classic songwriter ”look”,  is also. 
There is nothing non-authentic about Pimało: His wonderful pub “Lebemann“ in the heart of Eisenach, his infectious friendliness, his lyricism, his music. His previous recordings suggest that the musician, who cannot be pigeonholed, has long tried being one with his songs about life, love, despair, sadness and all the beautiful moments that we would love to hold on to, but cannot.
“All the trees are still moving“ has become magical. It is a passionate album, sweat and tears soaked in every respect, the mature album of an ambitious artist. Eleven songs, which at any time sound fresh, absolutely unpredictable, but also demanding of its recipients. This music wants body, soul and spirit, not just half ... never half. The production itself is borne from the favorite tools of harmony: impressive vocal harmonies around consistently solid hooks, that are clear and often inspired by a beautiful acoustic instrument (guitar or mandolin), but also drawing from electronic elements, and a lot of dressed up ideas (a hand clapping here, brass instruments there), which is to be attributed to the diverse collaborations of Pimało and the creativity of loyal accompanying musicians. A “hidden gem” highlight is the song “Losing my mind”, a splendid and slowly built building, whose elegy reminds us of Neil Young and it’s also that song which every singer-songwriter would like to write at times.
One could come up with the best idea, Pimało’s songs unfold their full force in these quiet moments and this could be confirmed by intently listening to the new album. Finally, the Eisenacher himself says that he is “melancholy luxury”, and basically his song-making is based on this luxury. And yet Pimało’s new music does not do justice to this, possibly even too clichéd a statement, since the mid tempo pieces also have an immense power. Dancing belongs to our life compellingly, especially in stormy times like this. We need artists like Pimało, more urgently than ever!
