The Hierarchy Audio Show #24.12

2024 was a busy year for Kidsonic.

Following the release of his debut album Finding Faith in late 2023, he’s since proceeded to slap us silly with a barrage of beats on an exciting range of imprints: Drumad, Beats In Mind, his own self-titled platform, Nymfo’s LFLF imprint and brand new label Mustard Music where he’s found a spiritual home and dropped some of his most impressive tracks to date.

Now with more releases locked for 2025, Kidsonic reflects over his best year to date and what he’s had to overcome. Autistic, born blind and now heavily visually impaired, Kidsonic's route up the ranks comes with its own unique challenges which he perpetually rises to with a calming and philosophical air and approach.

In his own words he celebrates his abilities rather than focus on disabilities. And he’s definitely achieved in tearing our HQ speakers into shreds with this cracking MIXMAS trip. A story told the classical 1210 way, this is a special vinyl only trip into a whole other side to the rising artist. By day, a mild mannered minimal crafstman. By night, a bad-ass wax wrangler who has the chops and confidence to try and blend Twist ‘Em Out and Mr Majestic. What’s more, he makes it work perfectly, too. Ryck from Berne, Switzerland plays different styles of D&B Jungle since '97, co-hosted the monthly D&B radioshow "RaBass 95.6 FM" from 2005 to 2018, co-launched the monthly https://soundcloud.com/bern-bass-podcast -series of episodes in 2014 and co-promoted the Liquid Session D&B-Eventseries at Dachstock Reitschule Berne until its demise in 2024. After co-releasing tracks with Konfront.Audio and FD on Soul Deep and Sunandbass Recordings, he launched the now dormant label https://bernbassrecords.bandcamp.com in 2020 that so far had three Bandcamp-only releases featuring Swiss artists exclusively. 
After playing at major events and venues all over Switzerland such as Mute, Bierhübeli or Rohstofflager, with highlights such as going b2b with LTJ Bukem in Basel or being featured in a Swiss D&B documentary, today Ryck is a regular DJ at DARKSIDE Berne, HOTBOX Zürich and VIVID Basel.
