This remix of The Last Hero started off with some air drumming whilst I was listening to the original SID at work (this happens all the time when a tune inspires me). I got the basic groove down and thought: "I must get this tune remixed!" I don't play other instruments that well and please don't ask me to mix and master your next album, but I'm fortunate to have talented friends who dedicated their time to make this remix to what it is. It was a pleasure working with everyone and for me, this cooperation is a true testament to how wonderful the C64 scene is and also the friendships that come along with it.

Featured in the Amiga intro "0815-4711" by Paradise, released at Compusphere 2016 Amiga intro competition and in the same partys´ chiptune competition.

Both versions had slightly different endings due to replayer issues. The version you hear on my Soundcloud is the "original" version as used for the Compo. In the intro, I had to remove the EFx command and included an alternate ending instead.

When Zoom suggested the idea of doing a breakdown reel, I figured we could either use the original track (which wouldn't have fit), some other track (which is kinda lame), or I can take a crack at doing a remix, which is something I really enjoy doing; I figured since most breakdown reels tend to have music with this kind of downtempo contemplative vibe, I went with this direction and it turned into a lot of fun.

(Yes I considered calling it Animatrix edit, shut up.)
