Malima Kone is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from Burkina Faso, West Africa. Originally from Mali, Malima belongs to the ancient Jeli (“griot”) music tradition of the Bwaba people whose cultural heritage he moves forward by importing outside influences.Malima has drawn from his lifetime of music study to preserve the sounds of his ancestors. Many of Malima’s lyrics are based on childhood experiences. Malima strong vocals and raw style carry a blend of African, Folk, acoustic Jazz, and Reggae styles.

Malima Kone, est un chanteur, compositeur et multi-instrumentaliste du Burkina Faso en Afrique occidentale. Originaire du Mali, Malima appartient à l’antique tradition des Jeli ou griots de l’ethnie Bwaba dont il fait progresser l’héritage culturel traditionnel en y important des influences extérieures.
Malima s’est appuyé sur une vie entière d’étude de la musique pour aider à préserver le son caractéristique de ses ancêtres.
