Reptile Dysfunction launches Think Sideways Edits: a four-track vinyl EP with club cuts from Soul Clap, Charlie Rope, Rick Trainor & Noah Schy and Doorly himself.

Doorly and Reptile Dysfunction proudly present the first of their new vinyl Think Sideways Edits series, in which the label boss will be calling in favors from A-list stars and bright young guns to release some heavy duty, club-focussed edits, and sample-heavy cuts.

Since launching in late 2016, Reptile Dysfunction has been resolute in championing previously undiscovered talent alongside releases from firmly established artists. Now with the launch of a new vinyl edits series, and the first official Reptile Dysfunction parties just around the corner, the label looks set to have a landmark year.

With the summer season following sharply on its heels, Think Sideways Edits Vol.1 presents four disco-sampling, feel-good club edits ripe for pool parties and basements alike.

“This one features one from me that one been holding tight for a while. I’m now putting it out due to popular demand after people track IDing the hell out of it for the last few months. Soul Clap has – unsurprisingly – turned in a stunner, then we have new talent from Rick Trainor and Noah Schy and a follow up to his wonderful EP from Charlie Rope.

Music is the essence of those who know how to enjoy life!

Originally from Canberra and now based in Melbourne, Luca, known as Everest, embarked on his DJ journey in 2010, inspired by a live performance by The Aston Shuffle. Quickly making his mark, Everest secured residencies at top Canberra venues like Meche, North Bar, Trinity Bar, and Mr. Wolf, and made appearances at notable events including the Spring Carnival music festival. His talent also led to multiple radio features on stations such as Raw FM, FM 104.7, and UCFM.

Since relocating to Sydney and ultimately Melbourne, Everest has played at renowned venues and events including Chinese Laundry, Circus Bar, The Burdekin Hotel, New Guernica, Killing Time and Sweethearts Rooftop, as well as having multiple guest appearances on Kiss FM, Bondi Radio, and Bondi Beach Radio. His musical influences span across house and all its subgenres, disco, techno and breaks, drawing inspiration from artists like Noir, Maceo Plex, Roland Clark, Guy J, and Floorplan.

Throughout his career, Everest has supported an impressive roster of international and Australian acts, including but not limited to:

Oliver Huntemann, Amine Edge & Dance, MK, Robosonic, Nora En Pure, Bart Skils, Alberto Ruiz, Will Clarke, Kill Frenzy, Peking Duk, Loco & Jam, Marco Faraone, Rufus, Golden Features, and Motez.
