It’s been a tough year. An economic, social and cultural shutdown has left people in a disenfranchised state, wondering what is next for themselves and the world. Despite all this, many of us have kept on keeping on - creating, loving, sharing and doing all we can to keep the Fires Burning.

This single is Adventura’s first foray as a music maker, encapsulating his love for driving grooves, tight percussion and genre-bending instrumentation. Expect a wild ride, and a whole lot more from this young producer.

Today we come to you with a lil special love nugget. This is a track we put together sometime ago and have been playing it in more intimate and cosy gatherings. It's our re-interpretation of a track called Goin' Bad from Soul Keita released on the marvellous Other People imprint back in 2010. Soul Keita is an artist we've been inspired by over the years and our curiosity has led us to really soak up every single piece he has released. Other than what remains of his music under this alias, he's been traceless for years.

We met Timboletti in Moscow, where he played a legendary gig at a magnificently transformed underground library. The next day we spent some quality time in the city, and let us tell you - this guy is not only a superb producer and DJ, Tim is one of the funniest people you'll ever meet! It's super sweet when you actually have an "analog" connection with the artists you work with, which is why we're very excited to release his works Trampoline Afterhour and Rubber Legs.
For the remixes we have one of our all-time favorite producers, the Ber lin based DJ and producer Powel. With his signature rhythms, percussion work and captivating atmosphere, he has created not one but two versions of Trampolin Afterhour, making this release a really special and timeless EP.

'For the 23rd EP on Heimlich Musik, Franz Matthews collaborates with label veteran Johannes Klingebiel and Berlin-based multi-instrumentalist Semodi, delivering two original mixes accompanied with remixes by Random Atlas and Balam. "Signs" is the result of a spontaneous collaboration between Franz Matthews and Johannes Klingebiel which started after a few drinks and builds on instrumental recordings. A powerful bassline and melancholic pads are used to reflect the message of the vocals to welcome the unexpected signs of life in a positive way. Evolving from a long-lasting friendship with Semodi, "Law of Attraction" is an enchanting arrangement carried by a subtle guitar and vocals about rewiring your own behavioral patterns for a more fulfilling existence. Chilean duo Random Atlas pick up the bassline and main theme of "Signs" in their remix while their powerful signature disco sound is magnified by the use of additional drum elements, analog synth lines, and electric guitars. Balam recreates "Law of Attraction" as an ecstatic club track based on hypnotic drums while keeping the spirit of the original, rounding up the EP as a whole.'

Today we share with you an old yet special project for us. Similar to our love for humans like Gil Scot Heron, Jimmi Hendrix and folk heroes from our home country of Iran in our music, Chavela Vargas has always been another source of genius for us. Celebrated for her 'rough voice of tenderness' and her haunting performances, she was (is) a true powerhouse of a woman. In one of her songs she says (translated):

'I'm not from here, nor from there
I have no age, nor future
and being happy is the color
of my identity'
.
Her words are visceral. Given our hyphenated backgrounds with Eastern roots coupled with a Western upbringing her words became our medicine. Given this, we had to make our interpretation of her song which we've played live and in our online sets. Today is the day we share this project with you.
