Nico Stojan set up Ouie with his friend and longtime collaborator Acid Pauli as a conduit for the unique and wonderful music they and their friends have become synonymous with. This latest release reaffirms the magical quality the label has cultivated, this time in the form of a teamwork between Nico and David Mayer. 

'Fling' kicks off powerfully - a shuffling, organic groove leads the way before synth pads, jazzy piano riffs and a big breakdown amp up the atmosphere. 

'Safari' employs a similarly swung, live feel to the groove, before dropping in a breakbeat to take things to the next level. The track builds tension as synths are layered and layered, resulting in a mystical leftfield bomb.

'Kalamanka' is a taut, atmospheric slice of late night voodoo, built around live percussion and understated synths.

Starting off this spring season @dunkelheitmusic would like to present its first VA, "Shades Of Reality". The compilation consists of several unique productions that convey the first Volume's title. Each track emits a certain emotion, which evanesces into a shade of a metamorphic reality that projects the moment of now. Welcome to the club, Schlepp Geist & Madmotormiquel! Both praised solo producers in their own right they have joined forces in the studio to create their “Smol Aelan EP“ for Hive Audio, a slamming conjunctional label debut that will be remembered to punters and DJ's for years to come.

The opening title track „Tuvalu“ seems Schlepp Geist & Madmotormiquel exploring soft, melodic TechHouse territories backed by well punchy drums, dramatic percussion fills and ever evolving string arrangements alongside a crystalline main motif surely to be appreciated by (Neo)Trance-lovers and heaving early morning sunrise crowds alike.  

The follow up „Niue“ stays on a melodic TechHouse lane whilst employing more tribalistic percussions and a certain enchanted mystique for an overall vibe, weighing in echoing signals and blurred melodies for a journey into a tantalising dream world.

„Nauru“ sees the duo taking jam packed venues to new levels of ecstasy with a muscular, slightly Prog-infused uptempo TechHouse approach and dreamy piano lines on top of dense, mysterious and dreamy atmospheres and an extended breakdown leading up to a deep, melodic climax that can be described as score'esque for a reason.

Finally „Baby Gangsters“ brings forth a captivating variation on tribalistic House / Slow House grooves, catering lose percussion loops alongside a catchy Disco bassline, characteristic urban vocal samples, detailed background works and klaxon'esque, large scale low end signals for climaxing dancefloor sessions.

For release number twenty-three on San Francisco's Manjumasi, label co-founder @mcslee returns with a new EP, his first original showing on the imprint since its debut release, his "Nocturne Belle" EP in 2016.

The "Grapeseed" EP features three original tracks, all with deep and mysterious elements that have become a marker of Slee's production style, as well as the broader Manjumasi label sound. First up is "Grapeseed", a haunting number built around a deep gliding bass riff with echoing bell melodies. The second track is Westvine, again featuring gently modulated bell elements in the lead, while dialing up both the shuffle and groove on a much more syncopated low-end. Finally, we have "Bitter Flower", which uses a super deep groove to set the foundation for classic synth elements with a modern twist. Acid-lines echo through the sonic space, alongside a nod to the classic M1 organ texture.

Alongside the originals is a diverse collection of outstanding remixes from highly respected producers. First up is Berlin's @acidpauli, who turns in an incredible deep and minimal interpretation of "Westvine". Here the focus is on solid bass and little organic details that grow gently through the mix, like tendrils into a brick foundation. Next is Seattle-based Jeff McIlwain, aka Lusine, who pulls the tempo of "Grapeseed" down to a very mellow 100bpm, the perfect pace for a deep bass burner that works its way steadily through an intense slow-mo crescendo. Finally, Birmingham's Tom Flynn takes aim more squarely at the dancefloor, with a proper ripping take on Bitter Flower. Driving synths and arpeggios recall the energy and euphoria of classic progressive house, but Tom's touch employs a more modern and sophisticated sound palette, expressing both melancholy and intrigue.
