It Just Goes

It is sad, really. That a once fantastical place could fall to this. The streets are marble, if you could dig that deep into the shattered glass that covers them. The ruined buildings are trimmed with gold and silver as if that mattered to the city's staggering population of ten. Yet tucked within miles of shattered glass they have no where to go, so they stay. Quiet and content, with not but a flame and a gentle creek to keep them alive.

The Quaint Little Town In The City Of Broken Glass

The air is still and stale, and smells of burning rock. The sky is frozen in a state of chaos with red blue and purple nebula and clumps of earth floating about. It seems that you are on the only flat ground in at least billions of miles. Also inhabiting this platform is a single small building. with a worn brick base, glass windows in the middle, and a lit yellow sign with glyphs of an unrecognized language on top.

Darkness surrounds you. A darkness so deep and all encompassing that it is suffocating, and, if it wasn't for your crystal suit and constant flow of oxygen, suffocation would have been the least of your worries. All is silent. Even the clinks and clatters of your movements are absorbed by the Void. Millimeters from certain death at every inch of your body, with invisible unknowable terrors awaiting you, an existential dread sets in.
