So that was the final night at the Paradise Farage. Sadly the club has had to be closed down, demolished and the site turned into a giant lorry park as a result of Brexit. For our last show, we travelled to Ray Mang's studio and streamed live from deepest East London with Mr Mang himself, a Leftside Wobble guest mix and me. "Trying to capture the feeling of summer in the Northeast is tough, the most concise summation I could muster is, "finally here, it's almost over" because honestly thats how it feels up here. (not to mention that by the time I finally ever do a summer mix, it tends to be almost over). That feeling of fleeting warmth and beauty coupled with my city emptying out every summer (byyyye students!) is what I tried to capture in this mix, and for me this is what it sounds like inside my head when I step out of the house and start walking on those first warm days. "Gouranga have long been fans and supporters of the Disco Deviance sound. In an exciting new collaboration they are releasing some new DD T shirts based on the classic logo in a variety of wonderful colours. It was an honour to be asked to compile a mix to accompany the launch.

Nostalgia is a strange and dangerous beast, but in this craziest of years I decided any excuse to play music (even in my basement) should be accepted enthusiastically.

It was a wonderful trip to select these songs, not necessarily the best or most important ones, but for me the ones that became my good friends on trips around the globe. Each track represents an attempt to share a personal and passionate journey I was taking into Disco music over more than a decade. Each one also represents a relationship with amazing people who followed and shared a similar path. 

Most of all the songs conjur up a wonderful time in my life when these songs made up the sound track to nights and days in small clubs, on boat parties, at festivals, on roof tops and in many other locations from Tokyo to Bangkok to Singapore to Sydney to Rio to Bogota to Monterey to LA to NYC to Madrid to Paris to London and to Dundee.

I hope you enjoy the journey as much as I did making it.
