Niconé, the versatile musician and likeable style-icon: unshaven and latently bleary-eyed, of course, but elegant and – thankfully – modest at the same time. Over the past years, Alexander Gerlach has become synonymous with a certain playful touch and light-hearted attitude that flows through his music and goes hand in hand with a laidback natural tenor. 2011 saw him release the hugely successful ‘Romantic Thrills’ album together with his good friend and constant partner in crime Sascha Breamer. Now, two years later, Niconé is presenting his first solo full-length, ‘Let Love Begin’, on Stil vor Talent. ‚Burnhain’ gives a taste of what’s to follow and is one of two 12“ EP accompanying the album. 

On the A-side, ‚Burnhain’, classic house sounds such as driving high-hats and 90s rave stabs offer a nod to the past, while hitting the zeitgeist. ‘Querido’, which features Sascha Braemer and the newly discovered vocal talent Yvy, initially drops the energy on the B-side before exploding with Mediterranean life, castanets included for good measure. ‘You Are My Best Meowfucker’ then pushes us back into the club as a techy rhythm and repeated vocal hook draw us to the floor. The track’s twist offers itself in the form of a string loop that lends an oriental edge. Spicy and addictive! Let love begin..

Erhan Kesen had a long music career in Istanbul. In 2012 he came to Germany, precisely because he wanted to improve his musical horizon. Due to his performances in serveral clubs in Germany, he got to know Nikaqo. After a few studio sessions they became a close team. “Everyone” and “Feel me” are the result of this collaboration. Sascha Breamer and Christian Prommer also contributed to this EP. They both made a remix! “Everyone” by Erhan Kesen is the first EP released at the Berlin label WHATIPLAY.

Nach einer längeren Musikkarriere in Istanbul ist Erhan Kesen 2012 vor allem deshalb nach Deutschland gekommen, um seinen musikalischen Horizont zu erweitern. Während seiner Gigs in verschiedenen deutschen Clubs lernte er Nikaqo kennen. Nach einigen gemeinsamen Studiosessions entwickelte sich eine enge Zusammenarbeit der beiden Künstler. Mit „Everyone“ und „Feel Me“ präsentiert Erhan Kesen mit dem hier vorliegenden Release die Ergebnisse dieser Zusammenarbeit. Großartige Unterstützung fand Erhan bei Sascha Braemer und Christian Prommer, die je einen Remix zur Everyone-EP beisteuerten. „Everyone“ ist die Debüt-EP von Erhan Kesen auf dem Berliner Label WHATIPLAY.

Dieses Set bedeutet mir unfassbar viel. Es hat mich meine ganze Kraft gekostet, die letzte Kraft, die noch in mir steckt. 

Die letzten Wochen waren die schlimmsten meines Lebens. Es gibt kein einziges Wort, was dieses Gefühl in einem ausdrücken kann, wenn man einen Menschen verliert. Es gibt kein Wort dafür, weil es einfach nur eine eiskalte Leere ist. Die Sehnsucht nach diesem Menschen zerfrisst einen. Gedanken, Vorwürfe und Fragen, auf die es nicht eine einzige Antwort gibt, zerstören deinen Kopf. Deinem Herzen fehlt ein Stück und es kann nie wieder repariert werden.

Dieses Set ist für meinen kleinen geliebten Bruder, der von uns gegangen ist. 

Es soll kein Abschiedsset werden, sondern eine Aufforderung an alle Engel, mit uns zu tanzen und bei uns zu sein. All die, die einen Menschen verloren haben, können sich in den Melodien verlieren, sich fallen lassen, sich in Erinnerungen an diesen Menschen wiederfinden und mit ihm tanzen, bis in die Ewigkeit. Lasst uns Augenblicke aufleben lassen, die uns keiner nehmen kann. Lasst uns den Himmel zu uns holen, die Wolken streicheln und die Sterne küssen. 

Es gibt leider nichts auf der Welt, was ihn uns zurückbringt. Was uns bleibt ist die Erinnerung, die unvergessliche gemeinsame Zeit und die Gewissheit, dass unser Engel immer bei uns ist. Alles, was wir tun können, ist ihn festzuhalten und für ihn weiterzuleben. 

Das Set soll uns ein kleines Stück Leben zurückbringen, uns ein wenig Kraft und Hoffnung schenken. Es ist auch ein kleines Geschenk für meine Familie. Wir haben eine so große Liebe entwickelt, ein undurchdringbares Band umschließt uns nun. Wir werden uns für immer festhalten, unsere Herzen sind vereint. Ich wünsche mir, dass jeder einzelne von uns mit diesem Set unseren Engel aufleben lassen wird. Für eine kurze Zeit den Schmerz betäuben und uns freuen, ihn gehabt zu haben.
