El Sueño de Nemo brilló con luz estratosférica en la postrimería de la década de los 80, entre el fin del Post Punk y la aparición del Grunge Rock, entre el fin de las movidas madrileñas y periféricas y la campaña de la Generalitat para levantar una segunda ola del Rock Catalán. El Sueño de Nemo bebía de diversas fuentes, Joy División, The Chameleons, REM... del impacto auditivo que supuso en su momento el Joshua Tree de los U2 y del kiss me kiss me de The Cure. Bebía también tragos de Pink Floyd, King Crimson... bandas imbatibles a todas las tendencias. Tampoco ignoraban a grupos, como Loquillo y los Trogloditas o Radio Futura o al Último de la Fila, que marcaban el paso de la época. Sin embargo el grupo consiguió un sello propio que le permitió defender su repertorio con la convicción de que estaba abriendo caminos en un paisaje difícil y que tal vez ese camino fue seguido por otros, con más éxito.
