Early last year I spoke to Musician/ Composer and good friend Joseph Alexander about potentially working together. I explained to him I'd written a piece of music about my recent trip back to my home town Bournemouth and how my journey back to London was delayed because of a storm we had. 

I had mentally prepared myself to leave my loved ones behind once again, and the feelings it entails. But then I found myself not going anywhere. I had an unusual experience of being home sick, whilst still being at home. It was something that took me several months to process. Anyway, the first draft of this song came out of that.

I sent Joe and early demo of the song, within a few days he told me he had already begun working on the track and wanted my opinion of what he had done. On my first listen I was in an emotional vice, the song had taken this whole new form still maintaining the feeling I had experience several month ago, however with the addition of the strings it was enhance. Joe had managed to capture the feeling and trouble I had within the beautiful score he had written around my music, and in secret it brought me to tears. 

A few days later we took the song to audio wizard Joe Reeves where we cut the track in one afternoon. 

This experience has been probably my favourite collaboration to date and one I will cherish for a long time. 

Id like to give a special mention and thank you to Leo Polchar for playing on the track, and also to Lisa Coley at Sontronics for help with equipment and for supporting me over the years.

A song that I wrote shortly after a dear friend of mine passed away, after a long hard battle with cancer. He was considerably older than myself and taught me a lot about life, love and God. I love him very much and at times, miss him tremendously. This ones for you John.

I wrote this song whilst Serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in South Africa, Cape Town.

The song speaks about the need to "Let Go & Let God" 
Myself and Elder Kayden Smith (piano)recorded the song over two separate 4 hour sessions In a converted studio shack. The shack (situated in the middle of Kwanobuhle, a township outside of port Elizabeth) was owned by Monwabisi Jack, a South African rap artist and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was kind enough to record and mix the song for us. 


This song is dedicated to the South Africa Cape Town Mission and to all of the Missionaries that Have served, Are serving, Or will yet serve there.
