Description: Tangent Lines was made in October 2013 with field recordings from a trip to Loch Alsh in the north west of Scotland, with Mike Harding and Jana Winderen. Most of the recordings used were made with hydrophones in the waters of Loch Alsh.

A beautiful piece Bethan! Has a grace and subtlety which puts me in mind of the films of Tarkovsky (which are also often very watery!) Love it!

composition for the "red sound blanket objects" - installation, presented in three little sleeping rooms of the Brotherhood house in Schoorl during the Schok art festival 2001. Schoorl is a little village near the sea with formerly a lot of sheep farmers. The tactile sonic installation existed of three "red blanket sound objects" of different size hanging in the sleeping rooms. The public who could walk around and touch the woollen sound objects, hearing and feeling the sounds of the origin: the production process of the "red woollen blanket" as part of Dutch sonic heritage.

'We Love Our Parents, We Fear Snakes' originated as a sound and movement performance by Marbles Jumbo Radio and Yann Novak inside Johanna Breiding installation of the same name. The installation was created as an intimate gathering space — foyer/drawing room/death room/living room — for queer-identified performers to explore traditionally familial spaces and experiences of mourning.  Breiding invited Marbles and Novak to collaborate on the project and culminating performance because of their mutual experience of loosing their mothers. The project was part of Women’s Center for Creative Work’s Parlor at the Armory residency program.

'We Love Our Parents, We Fear Snakes' is a free download of Novak’s sound performance released on the 10 year anniversary of his mothers passing and is dedicated to Eva Shao-Huai Blum, Andrea Breiding and Ingrid Ann Buslee.
