Bevelled are the product of two friends and one man’s lifelong obsession with Kurt Cobain. His music, words, aesthetics, and uncompromising lifestyle didn’t just inspire the band’s early days — they’ve shaped the entire adult lives of its main singer-songwriters. That influence still burns at the center of everything they create: melodic, abrasive, vulnerable, and defiantly authentic.

The band’s roots look back to the gritty basements and dive bars of Seattle and Olympia’s 90s grunge scene, but their story took shape in London, Cambridge and South East of England, where the DIY spirit collided with a distinctly British edge. Their music balances heavily melodic songwriting with distortion and raw energy, keeping alive the same restless honesty that defined the Sub Pop era.

While Cobain’s shadow looms large, Bevelled also draw from a wider palette: such as the atmospheric melodies of Placebo, the sly swagger of The Dandy Warhols, the flamboyance of Queen, the thunder of Led Zeppelin, and the cold, electric innovation of Gary Numan. These influences merge into a sound that feels both nostalgic and fresh — grunge-inspired but unmistakably their own.

No longer the young outsiders who first picked up guitars decades ago, the band embraces their years with pride. They continue to write and play with the urgency of their youth, but with a sharper sense of craft and perspective.
